CVO owners like my fake CVO
« on: May 02, 2015, 05:09:10 PM »

Went to Thunder beach at Panama Beach, just returned, had a great time met many CVO owners, all great guys, there was a line for having their CVO's dyno'd, many of the guys like myself had ThunderMax installed previously, wanted their bikes flashed, tuned and dyno'd, Most thought mine bike was a CVO, I told them, no, it was a clone, with extra goodies, everyone one of those guys liked my bike, one guy wanted to trade even his 2015 Ultra Classic(NON CVO) for my 2009 Phoney CVO, even told him it was not a CVO, still wanted to trade, I didn't trade, because I'd have to go into debt adding all the extra goodies that my 2009 had, and my wife would hit the fan if I did that. Anyway, lots of cool looking CVO's really enjoyed the show and meeting great people that didn't look down their nose because I didn't have the CVO VIN. :)

Were any of our members getting their bike dynoed or dyno tuned there?

Who was doing the tuning?

Don't know where you've been hanging out with CVO owners that check vin numbers and
look down there noses if it's a clone. The group of people I have met on this site don't do it.

It's all just very interesting.

For instance.....I've been riding CVOs since late 2003.  And I've been to some of the biggest rallys in the nation.....Harley's 100th Anniv, Sturgis, Laughlin, Street Vibrations, etc. etc. and the only place I've ever saw a bunch of CVOs has been at our GTGs and never at one of the rallys.

And then for their to be a bunch of CVOs at a small rally like Thunder Beach and nobody on this forum mentioning it or posting pictures.....it all just seems a bit suspect.  How many are you considering "a bunch" or "a lot"?

I'm sure you took pics with your phone....will you please post the pics.  :nixweiss:

Is this the bike that you're saying CVO owners thought was a CVO?  A nice bike for sure, but far from a CVO and don't need to see a VIN number to know it's not.  :nixweiss:

JCZ, to answer your first question, when I was at the dyno booth, I'd say there were 10 CVO's either setting up appointments or waiting their turn.
As far as a small rally it was nice, I'd stop at different watering holes or venues, there were 5 to 10 CVO's at each stop, talked to several at each stop.
When riding passed many CVO riders.
When I did my engine work I found the baker clutch and compensator instead of SE.
On a side note, the several CVO owners switched out their stock throttle bodys from SE 50MM to the 58MM, these guys had head work done like me, but had the stock throttle body! HPI has a very good Throttle body!
I'm not proving a point here, I'm making a comment there are a lot of nice CVO riders who like my fake one.

CVO or not, your bike sounds like it's pretty sharp.

Interesting as I have been to thunder beach rally several times.  I go with another person with a CVO, and see a few while there.  Maybe 5 or six at one place at the most.  I am sure there could be many more there.  I have seen lots of CVO's at in Daytona but the there was a meet that was posted on here before it happened.

Horsepower inc must be a new vendor there, as I have not seen them at Thunderbeach, Its been two years since I have been able to go and the rally is growing.  I do like their throttle bodies, as I have one of their 55 HPI on my 13 CVO.

Nice ride.

Jswerve, I tried to get you the hookup when you bike broke down in Columbus Indiana last year, but I was a day late, but I tried, I wasn't a bit suspect when you sent the call out for assistance when you had your trouble, hope things are going better!
