Just wait until the dealership and the Customer Service folks tell him "they all do that", and "it's normal".

Please come back when you have 30K on the bike with a list of repairs, in or out of warranty.
I'll be waiting to see if you still have the big "Harley smile" then.
FWIW, I consider your opinion, 2K, as no opinion at all, any new HD will go that far trouble free! Maybe!!
Enjoy your new ride til you can't   Buffalo

Boycott Harley, never buy a new bike and tell everybody they're crap - that's the way forward.

Then just to prove how strongly you really feel sell your old Harley just to teach them a lesson.

And then buy a nice Honda.

Or accept that yes, unfortunately auto manufacturers seem to keep lowering quality standards and approaches to product testing - it is sad and sometimes really shoddy but it's not just Harley.  But despite this not every vehicle breaks down and a lot of owners are happy and may never visit a forum to tell their story good or bad.

Apart from a passing interest in pre-war to early post-war Harleys there wasn't a bike they made that interested me until the post-09 touring models. I'm happy with my 15 CVO SG, accept that a Stage 1 was essential, happy that performing one was a piece of cake, ticked off that the suspension is a bit poor, discomforted that crank and bearings may need attention sooner than on other motors but elated at the sheer awesomosity of this big stupid overly shiny slow hunk of metal and how it's reconnected me with biking in a way that I've not been for years.

3300 miles so far, had an issue with the motor faltering but that was resolved with the stage 1.  Looking at GMR for a cam upgrade for the next upgrade to the motor and talking to ohlins dealers about fork and shock upgrades too.
