Hey all,

I am thinking about adding the Kury 1692 Drink Holder to the '15 RGU for my wife, but wondering how well you like yours, AND, how big is the drink holder (diameter with and without the rubber fingers?).  Also, if you use a Bubba Hero 24oz thermos, will the Kury hold it?   :drink:

Thanks in advance!

Bought one several years ago and it's the first item to transfer to any new bike. I don't know the diameter but I do know she keeps a standard water bottle in it that has a kooze around it. Wife loves it.

Forgot, those rubber fingers keep the bottle from flying when you encounter bumps in the road.

Ahhh!  Good point!  Hey, if you're fitting a foam kooze into the thing, that's a pretty good inside diameter.  Thanks for the input, Eric!

I have these cup holders (cups?) on my bike.  They were on it when I bought it and I told Chip & Nancy before I left their home in North Carolina "those things are coming off as soon as I get this bike to California".  I found them so functional that I don't care what they look like.....they work and they're staying on my bike.

They hold anything from a 12 oz. can (kind of hard to get it out if you have gloves on), to water bottles, juice bottles.  I've even put keys and sunglasses in there for short periods of time.

Yep, I also have their matching pouch on the opposite rear speaker, but I'm not sure if they have come out with the 14-15 model yet. As you know the earlier models speakers fit differently on the TP than yours. I have our setup for her to have a iPhone cord for her to charge her phone since she takes tons of pictures and runs the battery down. Also keeps my peppermint lifesavers in there to feed me as we ride.   ;D

I'll be glad to get you a dimension when I get home from NYC Friday if you need it.  :2vrolijk_21:

Oh, and you need to bring that wife and come to Maggie Valley in September!  :2vrolijk_21:

Eric,
Dimensions would be awesome if you can manage that.  A pouch for the other side speaker?  I'm gonna have to search the older Kury RGU accessories for that one.  Some guys are putting pouches on the inside of their lower fairings, but I haven't found one yet I can live with.  Need something for keys, cell, and wallet (plus lifesavers, too!).
Patty and I have been discussing Maggie Valley.  Our problem is time, cause it would be 1-1/2 days there, 4 days to have fun, then another 1-1/2 days back home.  We have an elderly Yorkie that we don't board, and she couldn't make the trip with us.  You know how pets are and their owners.  Since we're retired, she is a huge part of our life and we love her dearly.  She's Patty's dog, but I think I'm softer hearted than she is about her own darn dog.  Anyway.  Heck, if anybody knows how short life is, we both do.  I'm gonna talk more with her about the trip.
Both of us would truly love to go to the Smokies and the BRP.  She's never been on the Tail or the Cherohala either.  I was there 5 years ago and it seems like a lifetime.  Who knows, maybe we can figure something out here soon.  It would mean the world to me to meet everyone there, and I want to be part of this family and so does Patty, so you never know!
Thanks for the invite and don't stop trying to sway us!
In the meantime, if someone else doesn't provide dim's on the cupholder, you can if you still want!
Heck, I'm just trying to find out if it'll hold a 24oz Bubba Hero thermos!

Don't I know it, Kiro.  I want to do that run so badly.  You know the story, Patty and I just married 2 years ago after we lost our spouses, and we both inherited some new priorities in the process.  I just hate that they can get in the way of long trips.  We do 3-4 day stretches at a time, but longer than that is tough to negotiate.  Not making excuses, just stating facts.
You guys have all been great on this site.  I want to be part of the long term family here, help people along the way, and meet even more new friends.  And a part of me realizes an obligation (at least in my mind) to do these GTG's.  Maybe obligation is the wrong word.  Commitment, brotherhood, family, call it what you will, obligations go with them all.
We'll see.  Maybe something will work itself out for us.  Like I told Eric, don't give up on me yet.
And thanks for the invitation, buddy!

I have had other cub holders on my bikes in the past and have seen these, people like them but for some reason I can't get past the thought of looking at one or putting one on my Custom bagger bars and breaking up the whole looks...but that's me ;D

You make a good point (but then you've got that awesome citrus hot rod, and I wouldn't ever put a drink holder on that scoot!).
Both Patty and I don't want to cross that line and then find out one day that we've gauded up our bike with all these chrome thingy's and now we look like one of these psychedelic chromed up Gold Wings (with apologies) that you see once in a while.  You know the kind.  Look like they weigh about 2,000 lbs.
It's just that on the last trip we took, we both went thru the water like we were dying from lack of it.  Figure the more you ride, the more you run into that.
Don't have an easy answer to that dilemma, except to just carry water in one of the bags, and then stop in the shade somewhere for a sip.  But stopping is time lost on a run, especially when there's no good place to stop.  I thought the holder would be nice as she could pass a drink to me once in a while that way, too.
I'm still undecided.  One thing for sure...I do my homework first on the thing I think I need, then wait a while.  If I still want/need it, then maybe I'll get it.
It's like you and I have said, Bob...everybody else in this thread that's weighed in has liked it from the get-go, or fell in love with it later.  That speaks highly of a product.
Hey, and I did see the one on JCZ's bike, and it didn't look bad to me!   ;D

Thanks for the input.  Always appreciated!

I just threw a tape measure across Janet's cup holder. The inside dimension of the metal ring is approximately 3-3/4". I had the handlebar mounted one on my bike and didn't like the look so I took it off. When Janet's riding with me we share, and when she's not riding I can reach back and get my drink out of hers with no problem.

Thanks, Joe!  That's plenty big enough for just about any container!  I appreciate you doing that!
