It looks like you've been talking to an uninformed person, based on that comment. There is nothing about a 110 that makes the filter requirements any different than any other Twin Cam engine. As for the micron rating, claims about micron "rating" on the box are more marketing hype than fact, and don't correspond to an industry standard. Regardless, the K&N doesn't claim to be a smaller micron rating than the Harley filter, which claims a ridiculous 5 microns. The same filter used to claim 10 microns many years ago, the only thing that changed was the printing on the box. K&N makes no micron rating claims, and if they did it would be in the 10 to 20 micron range, same as most others on the market.
K&N, part number KN-171C for chrome, KN-171B for black. Been running them for at least ten years now.

At first when I read the threads (may have been on a different forum?) the talk was that the 110's demand for oil circulation can be, in effect, choked down by a "tighter" filter. At the time the argument made enough sense for me to ask the question before I pulled the trigger.
As always, I appreciate your comments, Jerry. We've all talked to uninformed folks about Harley stuff, but
believing what they say is another story entirely!

In any case, I've ordered 2 K&N's from Amazon at under $13 apiece and free shipping, which seemed like a good deal to me!
