« on: October 14, 2015, 07:42:12 PM »

Do these slip ons work as good performance wise....  as Crusher mellows?

I'm sure Steve from GMR will chime in, but I remember he said there is no performance difference between the mellows vs non-mellows. That is unless you are running over 120 hp, like a ST120 or S&S 124 for example.

The only difference between the Trident and Slipstream is the tips.

However, the newer Crusher Maverick is not the same as the Crushers, and when people refer to the great performance of the Crushers, they are referring to the originals, not these new Mavericks, which have recently come out in the post Mike Roland era at Kuryakyn.

The crusher (non mellow) is my go to exhaust for slip ons.  I have had great success with them.

Make sure you buy the slip-ons you want.....Trident or Slipstreams. But make sure they are what you wanted. The tips are not interchangeable.......don't ask me how I know.

Trident or Slipstream only refers to the tips- they are both the same "Crusher" muffler. The Crusher muffler comes in standard (referred to by some as the non-mellow), or Crusher mellow version.

I haven't noticed any difference in what tip is on there, but I haven't done any back to back testing either.  Get the one you like the look of.

Yes, all crushers the same, and are different from mellows.  They are manufactured by Vance and Hines to Kury specs.

I'm using the kury crusher mellows with the trident tips.    With the power cell.    It's a great system and the tips fill the space under the bags really well.  I definitely recommend them.   And the sound is just right for me.       Stuart

Sorry.....was gone for a while. Wanted the Tridents, that's what I ordered. I got the Slipstreams, I thought now problem, Ill just change the tips. Its the same muffler body, but the tips mount differently. Not interchangeable. I was at the dyno already no time to send them back or reschedule tune. I left the Slipstreams on the bike. Now I am used to the way it looks and don't worry about it. Both sound the same, the Slipstreams, or the Tridents. The Mellow version is just a baffle change to make them softer sounding.

They all run the same , We did some testing a while ago now with mellow vs std crushers and they had no change in power AFR did alter some but that is to be expected. One is louder than the other.. It is a great muffler in my opinion.  Do not throw the maverick series into that mix not the same by any means.

I agree with Jason and Steve, the Crusher series mufflers are the BEST muffler on the market today. They have a great deep rich tone, they perform very well, they bark when you twist the throttle, they all but disappear during crusing so you can hear your tunes.....most of all they tune very well.
I also agree that the Mavericks are no where close to the class the Crushers are......they perform terrible and sound raspy at best....very disappointing muffler.
This post is not to discredit the Fullsac core and screen set up, these too are a GREAT performer and make a wonderful sound output. The Fullsac DX header is unmatched on todays market....BAR NONE

I have had the crushers on my last two bikes and love them. As stated pretty god sound but while on the road it is pretty quite which is great on trips.
