took yesterday and today off with the weather so awesome and with Lone Star Rally next week
wanted to take a ride down to West Beach and the seawall for from road time since I've been working so much lately and the weather was crappy

all was good came back down highway 6 then over to 1764 where I was sitting at a light, in newtral,
the light change, stroked into 1st and took off
but the little girl behind be took off faster,
knocked me forward but kept it upright,

damage to the fender, bag and tail light,
but really want to make sure she didn't do any structural damage?

does not look like she hit the exhaust at all

she was very quick to pull over with me and ask if all was OK, and forking over her information

now I've got to decide to go to LSR as is or wait
now to do my own pesonnal inspection and call her agent

I had that very thing happen many years ago.  Also a distracted young girl who had just gotten her permanent license.  She was messing with her radio.  My damage was limited to the rear fender.  If your fender is bent, make sure there is no wiring touching your rear tire...

Glad it was only the bike bent and not you.  Metal can be repaired, skin/bones a bit harder.

was on the 13 CVO road King
just called my insurance company to have them contact hers and get the ball rolling,
I never! (knock on wood, or head) but two mistakes
did not get her drivers liscense number or the make and model
but got everything else
my agent says no problem just hope it's not
pulling the bag to make sure the pins did not get damaged or wiring,
the fender dent is no bigger than a quarter but and bag damage is surface scratch with some paint loose but want it all back as new

OK I was going to sue!
she broke my drink bottle in the bag!
had green Tea all over my rag!

but after making another phone call to her, she (lead foot)!
gave me all of the missing information over the phone that I did not think to get
and was so pleased she can help raise her insurance rates to get my bike fixed

Similar thing happened to me a couple years ago.  Got rear-ended by a car full of teenage boys out celebrating the driver's 18th bday.  Broken foot, road rash, and $11,000 worth of damage.  And the kid was uninsured, of course.

Got hit hard enough that it pushed the saddle bag a few inches forward and mashed the rear fender, but the dealer said the frame was fine.  I haven't felt anything unusual, so far.  I'm pretty confident your frame is okay.

Glad your ok......it's unusual when a car hits a bike while moving it end up being just a fender.

Hmmmm.  It sounds like the common thread here is teenagers and/or rear-endings at stoplights. 

Guess I need to be watching my rearview mirror a lot closer at stoplights from now on.  I always look, but will look closer now.
