Going to end up pulling the top end off again and going to have heads rebuilt and a bore with .010 pistons.
My guy suggests either Tman or Zippers Stage I heads, and says both do good work.
I'm not looking to do any porting or anything drastic, as my heads have been previously cleaned up, but I want them to work nicely with my TTS100 cam I have installed. I figure I want it all set up for 9.7 to 1 compression.
I called both companies, and for $650, they pretty much do the same work, which is all new components and ensuring the heads are flat, and cylinder equalized. They both say they will communicate with my builder, who is known to them, and will match the headwork to work with my cam and engine combination.
Zippers is called the Stage I Workhorse heads, and all their info is on their site:
http://www.zippersperformance.com/Tman's site only shows their $995 CVO headwork, but Tman described to me the work he would do for $650, and it sounded like it was all the same stuff as Zippers mentioned.
It seems like the beehive springs are the way to go, but I'm not sure if different sized valves are needed, or if they will stick with the OEM size. I guess all of that will be decided by them.
Seems like a toss up to me which company to go with. Any thoughts?
