111 build
« on: December 14, 2015, 07:19:06 PM »

What ya think. Doing a complete redo on a 2003 R/K. Not chasing numbers, looking for a strong, low to midrange ride, mostly double up. Doing a S&S 111 build with 89cc heads, MR103 EZ start cam, reusing a 44mm Keihin w/ stage 7 kit, and S&S head pipe w/ crossover, with K/W super saver 2" cored muffs. Also reuseing the S/E adjustable ignition. Should be in the 10:1 Area w/ .045 head gasket. S&S said this cam is good at 9:1 to 10.5:1. 10:1 is what they recomended.

I like the square motors. The S&S 100" Evo I had was the smoothest most reliable motor above 100hp I've owned.

Looking for a strong low/midrange cam. I like the kind of power similar to my 110/255 equipted bike. Have in the past run cams with 40 degree closings, a little more to the right than I want. Have heard some good things about the MR 103, sounds like it will put me where I want to be.

I'll wager a S&S .570 at between 9.8-10.0:1 in that motor would be righteous.

I have a S&S V111 with over 50,000 miles. I had a small leak on front cylinder base gasket so I replaced tappets, honed the cylinders,  new rings and a valve job while the heads were off. I kept the 585 cam. Very happy. Satisfied.

"That's a 111?"
+1, that's the best I've seen from a untouched crate 111". Pipes playing well?
Good job on the tune.  :2vrolijk_21:
