A base map is just that a base map. It was tuned on another bike. Without a doubt the use of the flight mode ( v tune ) would dial it and tune the cells to your parts.. These bikes have head flow that can vary 10-15 CFM with ease and chamber volumes that can vary from 93 to 97 on avg so comp ratio is all over the place. then you get into fuel pressure that can be +/- 1-3 psi and then injectors that flow different. The saving grace is that the HD engine is really not that picky . and will run well seat of the pants in a wide area of AFR. This vary fact is why many "think" that their bike runs great. However with a custom tune it will only enhance the drivability and overall performance of your bike.
V tune that and you will see that it will alter the ve numbers.. You are only making it better..

To be clear not bashing Steve at Fulsac, he offers a great kit , just pointing out what is going on . Test 10 bikes and you get 10 different maps

Some may be very close others are changing 8-12 % on the VE numbers.. Final power numbers really may not change huge .. You spent a fair amount of coin on the bike no reason not to dial it in.. Steve gave you the great base map, now its up to you to tweak that and become more familiar with your tuner.
