My 2009 CVO Springer has 15K miles and I keep hearing about lifter issues, so I am going to get them replaced instead of getting stranded. I have a few questions and am hoping to get some of your expert feedback. The bike is stock with Vance & Hines pipes and whatever re-flash the dealer did when I bought it. Am looking to make some other sensible improvements while it is in the shop. Here are my questions:
1) What are the best replacement lifters to install so I don't have to worry about this again anytime soon?
2) I enjoy the midrange performance of my bike with the stock cams. Is there a cam that would boost my power across the entire RPM range? If so, what is suggested? I don't want to sacrifice low and mid range power.
3) What are some good computer maps? I want to "set it and forget it". No desire to screw around with a laptop making tweaks after the initial install/programming.
4) Are there other things I should consider along with these changes? I want to keep the bike reliable but, of course, l would love all the extra power I can get.
Thanks in advance!
