WOW!  What a great response.  I love this forum.  Thanks for all of your help.  Steve, unfortunately I sold the SE stock mufflers on ebay so I am married to the monster rounds for now...I don't know if they are the right internal diameter (1.75) or not.  Also, thanks to the guy who suggested Beecher Illinois for a tune, but that's more than 125 miles each way. I either need to find someone near Rockford Illinois ( about 60 miles northwest of Chicago), or maybe even wait until I get to Daytona and have it tuned there.  If I understand everyone correctly, I am running very lean right now and also very hot and I could damage my bike unless I get a proper full-blown dyno.  I wish I could find a dealer near me that I could trust, but I'm sure they are all about the same.  I am very glad to know that the "quick Tune" is a canned program and not equipment specific.  Also, the dealer told me he has to wait until a warm day (at least 50 degrees) before he can do the quick tune because they pump outside air into the room where it's done and cold air will make the procedure skewed (a moot point now since I'm not getting it done anyway)...anyone know if that's true?  Also wondering if I do wait until I get to Daytona for a dyno, can I trust Rossmeyers to do it correctly or should I seek out someone else.  I know this has turned into the thread from hell, but I just want my bike to run with the best performance with the exhaust I have already, and so I'm turning to the experts for advice.

Aaron Harp will be the guy to talk to, He should be at their Janesville location...a true professional  :2vrolijk_21:

OK, Here's the DYNO chart!  Dave told me that the MOCO claims 80 HP out of the crate, but he said they rate that differently somehow so their claim of 80HP is probably a bit high.  He said I gained about 6.

Yes, I had it tuned.  You're missing quite a few posts I think.  This is a 3 page thread and you are on the 3rd page.  On the second page I said that I had it tuned and I was asked by a member to post the Dyno chart, and when I posted it it began the 3rd page of this thread.

Graph looks good...Brian @ Valley is a very reputable builder/tuner in the industry...We know what opinions are like....Personally I'd ditch the true dual head pipe.. A proven "power robber" on most,, & put on a X pipe 2-1-2

Many people, including Brian, have told me that. It's my understanding that that will help below 3.5 K. I'll probably end up doing that but I want to get bike week under my belt first.

The dyno measures the HP and TQ the rear wheel puts to the ground, while the MoCo's official numbers are the output at the crank.  So MoCo numbers don't show the amount lost in the primary, clutch, tranny, drive belt, and rear hub.  Many people use a convenient rule of thumb that the drivetrain eats about 10% of the engine output.

Thanx Para Bellum!  So does that mean that I may have gained more than 6HP?

It's possible, but no way to tell for sure without a dyno run, on the same dyno, before and after the mods were done.

The problem with WOT dyno runs is that they only tell us what the engine is doing at WOT; nothing at all about normal riding.  And HP is a deceiving number, as it's about top speed, not the acceleration you feel (that's TQ).  Things like a big cam, true duals, and wide-open mufflers give more HP, but rob the TQ that makes for a good road bike.

I absolutely agree with going to a Pro Tuner, however it seems like you're in a jam with location, time and $. Aren't we all!? Ha! Call Woodstock HD, ask for Ralph. Tell him Bobby with the Black 16 CVO sent you. He'll hook you up. The right tune, not some "one size fits all" junk.
Being 2k miles from home on a bike you HOPE doesn't fail sucks. BTDT.  Best luck.

Back from Bike week and the Valley Racing dyno tune performed flawlessly!  Trailered from Northern Illinois to Ormond Beach, rode around Daytona for 3 days, and then rode to Key Largo for 3 days and then Key west for 3 days, then rode back to Ormond Beach.  Varying speeds, weather (it was in the 40s when I arrived and 80s when I left), and traffic conditions.  The tune really made a difference, and never faltered.  I had no pop on decel, and low rpm range was about the same performance as before.  I did notice more response at upper rpm range though (3500ish to redline).  I would highly recommend Valley Racing in Beecher Illinois to anyone in the area looking for a good tune, and it appears that the info from the dealer about getting a dyne tune in weather below 60 degrees is a fallacy.  Thanks to all for your help and wealth of information.

I agree on the WOT pull.. Many will say the HP is a great muffler. Yes it gave up some tq down low but its all good.. that is until you do a mild roll on the loss of low end power is something that you will feel and the bike will feel sluggish compared to a properly matched set up .

WOT is just one small part of the equation. But glad you like it and are happy riding it ..
