Because humans must measure everything with a yard stick.

What if there were no dynos. If we all just rode our bikes, and decided if we were happy or not by the way it felt.

If that was the case, a lot of dyno tuner and engine builders would be out of business, as most would probably be happy by how their bike felt, and not how it was measured on a piece of paper. And also because there would be no comparison of my piece of paper vs yours.

I'm guilty of it too. Guess it means I'm human. And a gear head.

We now end the philosophical discussion for the day  :)

I still don't see reason to do 117'' , looking on all numbers ppl got. Happy with my 110'' with cams , domes pistons, exhaust and dyno... much cheaper... go figure.

Your dyno chart is proof to me that we shouldn't get hung up on numbers. Dyno numbers can be "adjusted" for lack of a better word. No way a 110 gets 116 hp.and 132 tq. without head work...at the least.

Ok I am going to put the bike on another dyno  to see whats what.

I don't think it's necessary. I had my 2015 CVO SG tuned at Rosa's less than a year ago. It's a stage 1 with a Fullsac DX head pipe and Rinehart 4" mufflers. The numbers were 93/111 which falls right in line with others who have a similiar set up and have had there bike tuned elsewhere. It's not a happy dyno.

Yep, my 110 was about the same, which is average for 110 engines with after market pipes

Maybe you are right I don't know , but I can tell you bike runs like a raped monkey (comparing to stock bike ). I don't think RC cycles would adjust dyno to make customers happy, they put over 30 years of racing experience on the line, I would't do it. I was thinking to do 117'' but looking on  all this numbers and hassle with out or run cylinders etc. i will put money in pillow and do 124'' one day .... be safe

I wouldn't go that far. The correct exhaust,tb,injectors & cams could get you damn close to that! My bike as a 110ci made 115.42 hp sae & 121.85 tq & it's not a "happy dyno"

Of course it's not a happy dyno cause it's your bike and it's the highest output I and prolly most have ever seen with your description of work done.
Sorry I am of the opinion that you or anyone else would not make 115 HP with just the work you described above.  105/106 sure not 115.   So if it's not a happy dyno it's a stack issue or dyno games.
Historically across the site go back and let us know what you find.

Maybe even a climate controlled dyno with fresh sea air or mountain air being pumped in.

Lot of games being played these days heating oil up then cooling intake track to 140 and making pulls etc.

121.85 tq is not "damn close" to 132.85 IMO. Also stock 110 engines average below 90 hp. What kind of voodoo magic did you perform with air flow and cams to gain 25 hp? Hard to imagine without head work.

I guess you should visit a "real tuner" instead of a stealership & You'd see a lot more to be gained... I have RB racing 2-1, 58mm TB. HPI injectors, 570 S&S cams, RC a/c & tuned.. I use to go to "stealerships" until I rode my 09 to Bike Week & it died at every stop after a "dyno tune" I guess when my 117 is tuned it will be a lie too... It will wheelie on demand in the lower gears but I did do headwork & they flow 323cfm as well...

I have to disagree with you on that. I had a CVO Limited water head with a D&D Fat Kat and the T-Man air cleaner push 111 HP. I was asked what cams and I told the tuner it was stock. He implied I was not being truthful. The owner of the Dealership knows me very well and knows I would be straight up. Oh and BTW the TQ was 123. The bike ran very well. I believe Harry has a copy of the dyno sheet. It was a cool day in a temp controlled dyno room as well.

Seems my numbers are also a lie and they come from a guy with over 40 yrs of experience. If I said my bike makes 130 hp to someone and they say B.S I thought the dyno sheet would prove it ,guess not

I had the bike checked during dyno days at a local stealership & it was very close 16,000 miles later... I've lined up against many who claim it's BS for them to view my tail lights & your more than welcome to be "My Huckleberry" if you so choose... This guy is just the National record holder in AMRA Street Dresser Class but he may not know what he's doing.... ::)

I believe you.  Andrew and his crew have been in the business as you said for over 40 years. If they were misrepresenting the facts they wouldn't have a tremendous customer base that keeps on coming back year after year with their new bikes for his treatment.

If I were you, I wouldn't let anyone on this site get your panties in a bunch over the work Andrew and his crew have done.

If they think he is not telling the truth let them go tell him to his face. If you know Andrew, that won't come out well for them.

BTW: Rosa's isn't just scraping by financially. His Dyno, both hardware and software, is updated and calibrated regularly. If he thought he needed a new one it would already be sitting in his shop.

If I was closer I wouldn't hesitate to use him to do any of my motor work. He knows his sh.t!!

Enjoy your new ride!!
