After reading about how the Boom II speakers were so horrible, I was skeptical when I purchased my CVO a few weeks ago. Compared to my J&M Audio on my previous Street Glide, the Boom II didn't sound too bad at highway speeds. Today, the front speakers are blown.... just like I read about. I should just upgrade the whole system, I know...but its 3 weeks old and under warranty. Called the dealer and they said" You know, you need to break the speakers and amp in, right..." while I am familiar with speaker run in or break in, it is a widely debated topic. I am sure when it sat on the showroom floor they took extra precaution too (not). I would like to believe that I did not abuse the speakers, but I am not sure what would constitute abuse other than full out max volume and max base/treble settings. If that is the case, I certainly didn't abuse the speakers. Base/treble at half, volume about half and less than 1K miles on the bike.
