So 944's are mounted.  Interesting thing.  I did mount them inverted with no clearance issues.  Don't know if I mounted them right side up if it would clear but I followed the directions.  I measured the sag two ways.  First while sitting on the bike and bouncing up and down a couple times, I had a friend measure the shock length from center eyelet to center eyelet and got 11 3/8ths on both sides.  That's smack in between 11.25 and 11.50 as I was told to look for.
Then we measured from a point on the bike to the rear axle center with me off the bike and then with me on.  The shock compressed between 1/2 and 3/4".  All these measurements and results came from the shocks as they were shipped.  (No adjustments made)  I'm told that they arrive in the softest setting.
I have a 150-175 miles ride to the Hamptons tomorrow morning so that should be a good solid test.
If anyone feels I did anything incorrectly or in the wrong sequence, please let me know.
Thanks all,
Demetri
