I bought a 2015 CVO street glide that had some mods to the engine .At 12000 kms it had a lifter fail. 2 needle bearings came out of one and went  through cams and oil pump. Warranty covered the repair but they put the stock cams back in (se 255) instead of the Andrews cams. Not 100% sure but I think they were 48's  . The bike needs a different cam but not sure what to put in. The dealer whats 8 hrs labor to dyno and tune which I feel is a lot to pay to have to do it all over when I change the cams again . Thinking of going with SE 585's but would appreciate some advice .

Mods are

VH power duals with high output slip ons
58 mm throttle body
SE high capacity lifters
se pro tuner
Eight (8) hours of labor to dyno and retune a bike with a SEPRT already installed, seems to be quite heavy on the labor hours. It's five (5) hours labor in my area, however, they need it the bike for about 6 - 7 hours.

The SE 585 has been an excellent performer for me (don't confuse this with the S&S 585).  With dyno tune was able to achieve 118 torque and 109 HP with only the Fullsac DX (2.0 cores) and TTS tuner--no headwork, compression increase, etc.  Oh, I did change the sprocket to a 31T.  Very pleased with the entire package.
Because I did something REALLY STUPID , I'm curious as to your recommendations for a mild cam upgrade to my 2015 FLTRUSE. Entering the 4th Quarter of my life, this is likely my last bike and I'm looking to enhance the longevity of my Twin Cam 110 by replacing the lifters with S&S Premiums. So I pop off the lifter cover to swap out the lifters and notice to my dismay that the anti-rotational pin is "MISSING" and nowhere to be found :nixweiss:. Clearly it had been there as the lifters were still perfectly aligned so I'm guessing it somehow fell down into the cam area below :(. In order to find that pin I'll have to remove the cam cover (and to get to the cam cover bolts, the exhaust as well :'(). I'm thinking I might as well make my efforts fruitful by upgrading the cams while I'm in there .......but I really don't want to change out anything else (like springs, throttle-body, etc.) I'd just want a bit more torque for two-up touring and the SE-585 appears to fit the bill. The SE-585 description indicates " ....fits 14-16 CVO Touring models with or without the use of a 58mm Throttle Body" ......but "requires .....Performance Valve Spring Kit P/N 18013-03A". These forum posts appear to disagree the valve spring  upgrade is necessary. Your help is appreciated ........what do you guys think?

Trigger-Man,

I just changed to the SE-585.  On a 110 no spring change is necessary.  Bike runs very well.  I made 97/109 on very conservative HD dyno.

I would stay with stock TB, change out the lifters and ask your mechanic if he thinks adjustable push rods is beneficial to screw down the cams.

you will like the change.  Cams would make more power with a bump in compression like others have said.

If you have not upgraded your pipes, this will be necessary to make it all perform well.

Thanks for your recommendation jsfenster ....but thanks to a verrrrry handy magnetic pick up tool the missing anti rotation pin was retrieved from the bottom of the cam chamber :huepfenjump3:!! It's amazing to realize that anti rotational pin had somehow popped out of it's seat and "found" its way into that narrow opening ........a feat akin to Steph Curry hitting a 3 pointer from half-court LOL :o! I've installed a set of Rockouts as well as S&S Premium lifters and will button it up for now ......the bike is quick enough as is ;D. Hoping to enjoy both extended engine longevity and muted valve train noise with these upgrades.

if the pin was in there from the factory there is no way it can come out, the lifter cover has 2 fingers that hold them in place.did someone have it apart recently? man you just live right not to damage anything.any wear marks on the pin?

I had it apart to upgrade the lifters. No wear marks on the pin pewterbike1. It must have popped out of its seat when I removed the lifter cover by tapping it while trying to break the gasket seal. When the lifter cover popped loose I'm thinking the pin stuck briefly to the underside of the gasket before falling off into that narrow opening. I'm thinking now that I didn't need to remove the lifter cover to replace the lifters .....probably could have pulled them up and out with a wire clip. Yep ........I believe I'm a very lucky guy LOL :)! Between the Rockouts and the new S&S Premium lifters, my 2015 valve-train is almost as quiet as an M8 :2vrolijk_21:

With the pin down in the cam chest that may be true? Hmmm.
