Chief!

You are certifiably NUTS man! BUT, it's a good thing.

True, but in good company.

How do the pieces look?

I think I'm going to take the bike in to get the top of the saddlebags covered, and maybe the fairing to prevent the inevitable chips I got on the other one.
Chief

Does your source have the die cuts for the bags?  I need to get the top of my new saddlebags done, my custom seat rubs on them since it actually used them for support on the leading inside corners.

I put the pieces on Saturday and also the lighted saddlebag latches. I LOVE the gas cap cover! I'm not so sure about the derby cover on this bike. I sorta miss the red "SCREAMING EAGLE". not a big problem to change back though! The 06 part makes a great paperweight! LOL

I don't know if he does or not. I asked him about doing it, and I think I'll go by and just let him go for it. I've watched him work, and I'm amazed the way he can make that film work.

I took the last of the film I had and covered the rear of the tank between the console and seat. Between the cables and tubes coming from the tank console and the seat rubbing on the tank, I got some pretty good sanding there on the other bike.

You know, in the seventies, everyone used to have those copper jello molds of chickens and lobsters hanging on the wall. Maybe you could start something with some HD bling.

I would imagine he will have the ability to get the die cuts.  We use this 3M product on Porsches mostly and they have it down really well.

You can imagine the curves on a 911 and it goes on without wrinkles or creases.

Clear Guard has the kits. $129.95

Chief,
Is the film made by 3M or somebody else?  I know 3M has a kit for the 06/07's, as we've had the 06 done already.  Looks like the same pattern, other than the lowers.

The film I used is 3M, but it wasn't a kit. I just bought a piece and cut the pieces as I needed them.

I still don't get it?

I put the 3M film on the rear fender, like a condom.

I was originally thinking the reference was about Hot Toppers being condoms on the bolts.

Concerning the 3M product :
Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film from
3M helps resist the stuff out there that
harms vulnerable painted surfaces.

I found two links :
The firts is for a kit for 06 CUSE : http://catalog.xpeleu.com/partquery/search
I've sended a request for the price.

The second is the site of 3M : http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Q9KzYt3d9KP0I8yizeIN_L10C_IcFQEABBZ9AU!

E88,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I don't have any special talent, just some tools and a service manual. These bikes are just a bunch of big pieces bolted together. They look all complicated and overwhelming, but not too complicated.
