I have a removable tour pak on my 2011 SESG and was wondering if I'd be better off adding tour pak speakers or saddle bag lid speakers, my BSR can barley hear the music when we are out and about. It wasn't ever an issue with my Ultra. Pro's Con's recommendations, experience...What do you think?

At speed, both are a poor option. You are better off putting a high quality stereo with top fairing and lower fairing speakers. She'll be able to hear the music no problem. I have really high quality lid speakers on my cvo roadglide and they are fine at low speeds, after that forget it. I have owned limited ultra's in the past where I've upgraded the pod speakers and wasted money. My cvo sg has focals in the top and lower fairings and sounds better than any bike I've upgraded in the past.

The best option would be speakers in her helmet (assuming she wears one of course).  There are many ways to add audio to a helmet these days, from wired systems to Bluetooth.

No speakers you can install will equal good in-helmet speakers.

We typically wear 1/2 helmets, which is probably 80% of the time give or take. I'm not sure if I'm real excited about in the helmets, what are my options. The tour pak speakers on the 2010 SEUC we previously had was adequate for my bride...

What speakers would you consider good in-helmit speakers?  I sure am not impressed with the head set speakers that come with CVO's.  Sound is not near as good as the bikes speakers.

You have to decide whats good enough for your bride. I sometimes make the mistake of thinking everyone wants an audiophile type motorcycle stereo, its not worth the investment for everyone like it is for me.

I bet four Focals up front sounds awesome. :2vrolijk_21: The only time I hear the tour pak speakers is when I ride solo which isn't that much. ;D

Yeah, last year at Biketoberfest, late at night parked on main street I cranked it up playing some old school funk and next thing I knew there was a party going on around my bike! I thought I was going to kill my battery for sure.

I like the tour pack speakers a lot more.  I think at speed you can hear them better and it's nice not giving space away in the saddle bags. . . My. 02. . . .  Stuart.

Lowers and/or tour pac. Lid speakers sound great in the garage. I also would never ever waste money on moco junk speakers. I can't believe the number of people who have to keep replacing factory speakers then think adding more of them is a good idea.

I have focal kcr165 all around. . With a 600 watt arc audio amp. . Never any issues.  Loud as can be. . And I don't blow up any speakers. . .   :2vrolijk_21: :nixweiss:

Focals are an excellent choice except for lids. The way they are made allows water to run through them and into your saddlebags. Unless they make a water tight version that I'm not aware of. Hybrid Audio is a good choice for lids. Less chance of water leaking into saddlebags. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Focal otherwise .
