MOCO'S QUALITY WORK
« on: February 18, 2007, 12:44:44 PM »

I was going to wait to do upgrade's, but after reading some fine advice here from some of you decided to go ahead. Installed V&H ovals first then took off the stock air cleaner and found this. After seeing this thought I would share what I saw. These are supposed to be Harley's finest machine's. Really show's!!! Think this could have any effect on runability. >:(. And the dealer wants a good Customer Satisfaction Report. :huepfenjump3:

Now the gasket on the backside of the backplate. They only got one bolt through one of the actual bolt holes in the gasket. I really wonder how it would have ended up had I waited 1000 miles or so before changing out the ac.

Hey, it's in a place where you can't see it, so it's gotta be OK, right? :nixweiss:

That's freakin' unbelievable.  You know they're mounting that backing plate first, and then installing the filter and cover after that.  To not see that mis-placed gasket in the process (or care about it if they did) is amazing. :confused5:

Yeah, they even have those raised plastic humps that the gasket sits over so this won't happen. And I thought these bikes were built by a special group of people. I guess they ride the short bus to work.

I'll bet the CVO assemblers, who "hand build" every one of our bikes, make a LOT more than $22 bucks an hour too.

That's the new restrictor plate on the 110's, didn't everybody know that?   ;)

I plan to take the pictures and the backing plate in to show the dealer. Also when I took the saddle bags off found a scratch and a big discolored section on the backside of one of the bags. I'll post a pic of that when I get a chance, but that probably falls under the can't see it when the bag is on the bike. :confused5:

:oops:Must have been in a hurry to get to lunch.

Or to strike.....

This is scary.  I was thinking that when I get the bike I will need to ask the dealer to tighten all the bolts etc. Seems a deeper investigation of how the bike was assembled will be needed...

Terry,
I thought that was the CVO crew's version of  "roll your own" :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:
Can't wait to finally get my B&O and "strip her down".  Wonder how much "bailing wire and bubble gum" (that's for all us Southern folk  ;D) I'll find >:(.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear them tell you that you staged the pictures. Think I'm kidding? Just ask MikeL about his saddlebags. :o
