Windshield storage bag, 3 pocket, or the single?
« on: February 19, 2007, 11:21:12 PM »

I have to get the windshield leather storage pouch. I've seen the MOCO 3 pocket, and the singel. I'm going to be using it for ipod and cell phone and such. What does everyone have/recomend?

I have the triple, spare glasses fit nicely in the center, keys in one side and the phone in the other. Took  a bit ot get used to the look as it is cleaner without it. This is one of the items that you have for the function over the look...

I have the triple also, saw Jim's and at first look didn't like it at all, but quickly got over that works great for Key's, Glass's, and Phone or I-Pod.

Same here. Bought it for my 01 Ultra and just brought it along. Have several times considered getting a single because you are limited as to what will fit in the triple. In the end I kept the triple and it's functional.

One more vote on the triple.  I keep a camera in the left, smokes in the middle, gum & chapstick in the right...

I had often thought about one of these bags, but was concerned about damaging the painted inner fairing. Did any of you do anything to protect this from occurring, and if you haven't have you noticed any damage to painted inner fairing from rubbing? TIA.

They come with rubber feet that rest on the top of the inner fairing. There is also some foam tape that goes around the edge of the fairing to protect it. It does show some wear under it but the Glare should take the marks of if need be. I don't see it ever coming off though.

Never thought of that, I notice on the MOCO parts website they do say they wont work with wind deflectors. Whats up with that?

They will stick out due to the wind deflector being very small.  It'll bolt right on but look a little funny.  I'm running a 6 1/2" Opaque Black Clearview and it fits very nicely

Oh Ok, I have a custom one from Ebay that hangs over so as to cut down wind noise on speakers so it shouldnt be a problem. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to consider it some more now. Can never have to much storage space, and being right up front really is a plus.

The rubber "feet" have done an ok job of protecting the inner fairing. Bags themselves play hell on the inside of the windscreen.

I'm surprised nobody's come up with anything to fit on top of the dash on a Road Glide. I end up puttin my gloves and other stuff up there anyway and it doesn't blow away as there's no wind that comes through under the rubber seal. Still, a nice leather glove box type storage would be nice.

As others have stated, get the 3 pouch.  I had the MOCO single pouch and with being only held on with the center fairing screw, it put too much pressure on that screw and the screw insert would work it's way out of the fairing. The pouch also bulged my windshield out a little at the bottom.  The 3 pouch from HD has a rail (for lack of a better word) that slides over the inside edge of the upper fairing that looks like it works well from what I have seen on other bikes.  Electraglide Goodies 3 pouch is held on by the 3 windshield screws.  Right now I am pouchless.
