As follow up to the pics I posted the other day with the backrest of the larger variety, here is the look of the large backrest installed.

My problem is that as well as being inseam-challenged, I must have short arms too.  When I'm riding, the backrest is too far back to touch my back!  I tried moving the bracket under the seat forward one notch, but then it was too far down for the spring arms - the backrest was halfway down in the seat slot, even in the top holes!

So, do you think the bigger one you've got would help me in that respect, RJ?

I think the bigger one could be a solution for you, it also adjusts forward as well as geing taller as you can see in the pic with them side by side.  It would be good to find a shop with one or if they would order it in on spec for you.

The other thing my seat guy can do is add material to make them thicker to put you more forward.  You might try a shop around you for that.  To see if it would help, wrap a towel on your stock one and see if you need an inch or two.  Most any upholstery shop should be able to do it once you decide if it works.

Thanks RJ.   Can I ask how much your guy charged for doing the Ostrich insert?

I'll see if I can find the receipt.  A wild guess would be $50.00, he has the faux ostrich in stock and I bought the backrest from him which I imagine was HD list.
