I saw this somewhere else, and they showed the vehicle that these guys tried to pass, it's a van towing a trailer!!!!!

Had that same guy (at least he drove like him) pass me last summer showing how fast he could take a turn, some how he pulled out after ripping the crap out of his bike for about 100 yards.

That Deals Gap is damn sure a dangerous road! I've given 'er pretty good myself going through there, and my heart is pounding just thinking about it. I met a guy on a crotch rocket that claimed he could run the 11 miles in seven minutes, but it takes me twice that long! The big rigs apparently save a lot of time by cutting through  instead of going the long way around, but it just ain't fun when you're committed in a turn and meet a 14 wheeler needing both sides of the road to negotiate the hairpins. As to why the guy with the family in the video did not stop, I'd say he was scared chitless! Probably worried for the rest of his trip that the bikers would catch up to him to clarify the point in person!!
