They are and issued due to the High pressure of the Valve springs used on the 110 motor.  Lifter is the part that fails because of the high spring pressure on the 110.

Wonder why HD continued to use the same springs if this is such an issue.

It's not as simple as just changing the springs.  The rest of the accompanying design requires these springs.  And springs are only one factor in the failure mode of the lifters.  Insufficient oiling to the lifter axles also contributes to the failures.  The new motor had addressed the majority of these issues - it just took 10 years to address the problem (which they don't actually acknowledge exists).

The springs are too stiff. Both rate and preload. I am currently dropping seat pressure 15 and rate75#. This is done with a pac beehive rpm series.

On another forum a person mentinoed Kibblewhite Beehive Valve Spring Kit.  I see beehive get mentioned a lot.  Was thinking of doing Kibblewhite Beehive Valve Spring Kit with new lifters when the time comes.   Kibblewhite Beehive Valve Spring Kits come in .630 and .600 inch lift, not sure which would be the proper ones to go with though for a stock 110 engine.

At least that much is good news.  I remember you talking about "mentioning" a little noise in the cam chest to your dealer before leaving.  Of course they're not doing squat until it pukes parts out the side.  Really sucks to be them to have lost a significant bit of work first to another dealership and now to Jim....

Any idea yet if you'll have Jim do much beyond a good OE repair?

I'd be interested in the outcome.

Ok guys, I'm all questions on this one.

How do you know if the lifters are about to fail?  Can you inspect them somehow?  Do they start making some sort of noise?  How did the dealer determine they are needing to be replaced?  I wonder if replacement would be covered under Cornerstone ESP before they fail or if they won't do anything until catastrophe strikes?

My 15 has some miles on it and I'm starting to worry....

Those lift numbers mean nothing when the spring pack height installer with your valves is unknown.  The pressures and how far from coil bind are important.  For example,  sometimes a spring called .630 will go .650 or higher.
