Hello, I'm Glide-man, and I'm a addict.  ;) It started in 1999 when I ordered my 2000 Dyna Wide Glide.  I started with a stage 1 up grade.  Next winter I changed cams and Vance and Hines pipes, the winter after that, pistons HTCC heads and bigger cams. Following winter Better ported and polished heads, milled for more compression with bigger pistons. All the while adding chrome this and that. And telling  my wife this will be the last time. ::) Last winter before adding new wheels, rotors , and pulley. I added up the cost on a spread sheet.  More money into the bike than I would ever get back out of it. I wanted a bike few people had, I wanted a custom bike. I looked at everything out there. I test rode many of them. 300 tire this and S&S motor that.  Never quite comfortable with the whole package.  If only Harley made a custom.   I wouldn't have to add anything because it would already have the best parts on it. :P So I bought my 2003 SERK last summer. This winter i'm adding a  new oil pump,  gear drive cams, cam bearings, cam support plate, lifters, pushrods, power commander Rinehart exhaust and changing all the fluids to Red Line brand.   The quest for the best. The reason we want a CVO is because we want the best possible Motorcycle.  I'm not sure we will ever get there, however it sure is fun trying. Honest , this will be the last time, until the next time, later... Can I get a Amen...... 8)

Well I guess I might as well give my story. I had an 04 ultra that if I had to rate, would fall in line right after the wife & kids in order of the things I love. But one afternoon on a "quick run to Pepboys" Some no good M@#&$%$#@^ER stole it. Needless to say I was devestated. So right away I started looking for a replacement as the insurance claim was going through. After adding up all the extras on the old bike I quickly realized that it was cheaper to just go for the CVO right from jumpstreet
and be that much further ahead of the game. At least thats how I tried to sell it to the wife who just wasn't buying it. Well to my surprise she actually bought the bike out from under me without me knowing about it and had the dealer in on it and gave it to me for Fathers Day before we even knew what was going to happen with the insurance (God I love that woman!) Well to make a long story longer I really liked the 06 "Milkdude" so thats what she ordered, but after waiting for several weeks the owner of the dealership got the 07 B/O Jester in that he ordered & I was able to talk him out of it, and have LOVED it ever since. (minus a few "issues" in between with the 07 heat issues) All and all it just boils down to going with your heart and getting what YOU like not anyone else.

Okay, I've lurked long enough, thought it was time for me to join in.

Here's my CVO story.  I haven’t owned a motorcycle in 27 years.  My wife and I always rode together, 2up.  She occasionally made the suggestion I should get another bike, thought we would both enjoy it.  I started to look for a bike several times in the last 27 years, getting serious.  My problem was that I work in a job that exposed me to people who have been injured, some quite seriously, many by motorcycle accidents.  There were at leat 6 or 7 times I was serious about motorcycling again, along would come someone who reminded me that, when our when our bodies do battle with the road, they often loose.

The last time was this fall.  Started looking again for a bike.  Once again, same thing happened.  But this time, I decided that I wasn’t going to let a few badly head injured, multiple fractured souls keep me from that feeling.  Hey, let’s face it, you take a chance every time you step out your front door.  I’ve finally accepted the risks.

We were visiting friends who just moved to Northern AZ Thanksgiving time.  We rented an EG classic, rode around the red rocks of Sedona.  I was hooked again.  That first ride after 27 years, it was a total eye opener for me.  Motorcycling has a feeling of total freedom, not too many things give you that feeling.

Okay, after that ride, I start looking at EGs.  Then, I buy the Ride Like a Pro dvd to sharpen up my skills.  This motorcycle is all about the wife and I together, she’s precious cargo.  Great DVD.  If you haven’t seen that DVD, there are two 2005 SEEGs.  A red and a yellow.  That was it, saw those bikes, had to have one.  No question in my mind. There was a yellow one within 100 miles of home-showed the wife, she likes red, red it is.  Found one in upstate NY, my brother in law did the test drive for me.  Had it shipped (damage--another story). Took my first ride on the bike last week.  I'm at one with the universe again.

Welcome to the world of having fallen in lust with a red SEEG.  It's a nice orbit for a world to be in  :2vrolijk_21: .

You know.  The one that runs on two wheels.  The one that occasionally feels like HarleyupUranus but most of the time is as much fun as riding the rings of Jupiter.

awesome bikes, and cool storys, thanks for the reads !!  :2vrolijk_21:   My story.....I bought a '85 sportster for  $4,000.00 about 10 yrs ago...spent every winter tearing it down, and doing something to it, adding CHROME along the way....I love the nostalsia of the iron head ( like riding a roto-tiller ! )   I was very anti-Evo for some time !  Rubber mount...belt drive.....aluminum cylinders?     After a few years past, and a lot of many low gear ratio miles on the highways, I started looking around for something that would be " the bike for me" For the past few years, I had been in and out of dealers, and kicking tires, not really sure what I wanted to saddle up on next...a bagger....road king.....then in January of this year....I went winter blues tire kicking again, only to see what I thought was one of the most beautiful bikes I've seen Harley produce yet, ( other than a SE fatboy they made a few years back, and couldn't find to save my life!)   Just like almost everyone here..." I HAD TO HAVE IT !!!!"   8)  So, I called the bank...got the loan, and picked her up the very next day.  Unfortunatly....I've only had the pleasure of a few cold rides, and 100 miles of " wish it was warmer" smiles  :)  But spring is right around the corner, their talking about 50 degree weather this week in the North East..and wityh any luck...I'll be smiling along with all you " warm weather dwellers"      ;D  Why C.V.O. Cuz it's 110" of beautiful paint, and chrome, off the show room floor, and a limmited production masterpiece   IMO  ......and now I OWN ONE ~~~~  :orange:
