Big Daddy i can see your at sea level ma. Iam in Fl. sea level also. Did you buy the loaded pc with your pipes? When do expect to get the bike dynoed? I would like to see a dyno at sea level. As that is where ill be doing all my rideing. The new rhineharts have the clamps and one piece heatsheilds i was hopeing the freedom pipes would have the same, guess not! Ive been watching this discussion with interest very informitive on the freedom pipes. I think i would opp for the machined foot brake as ive read they have done for others. May wait till they improve the package for the seeg

Hello all.
Yep another newbie to the forum.
I've been racking up the break-in miles on my new SEEG, and have been feverishly reading the threads on this forum. It has opened up a bunch of information to me, and I appreciate everyone's experiences/input.

Questions on the Freedom setup:
[list bull-redball]
Is there anyone out there in the Northeast who is running this setup? I would love the opportunity to see/hear the pipes before I go for the package, as it seems to be the hot ticket for these 'Glides.
[list bull-redball]
Other than the Freedom package, who has experiences good luck with any other true-dual setups on these? I have Samsom headers and Hooker muffs on my 95" Road King, and have been pretty happy with their performance/sound.

Thanks.

Lonewolf,

I'm in Norwell, MA.  MIGHT BE A bit of a trip for you but I'd be game for meeting half way some weekend to show you the setup and compare notes.  Let me know.. 617-281-2140

Thanks guys, [smiley=laugh.gif] I've been catching up.  Haven't been here since page 13.  Since my last post, I made an app. to get my current ste up dynoed.  That's for those of you following along, Stage one download, open air box, and Phython slip on mufflers.  I get dynoed next week and I'm giving the tech that works on my scoot the number for brad at freedom. My tech is asking me why they use a PC and is it the latest one with the ability to program each cylinder.  I'm going to let the ones who know more than I talk about why the Freedom pkg. works before I spend the $.  With all the happy SEEGs  I've heard about, there has to be something to it.

Well it took me a few weeks (reference reply #192 Pg 13), but here are the results of the second dyno run. 88.94hp and 93.54 tq. Because this was one of those free dyno runs at a Harley dealer in the area I wasn't able to get more runs (only 2). . I think if I had done a few more I would have gotten the 94.4hp I got the first time. This dealer was able to show me several SEEG's which were getting base stock numbers in the mid 80hp range (mine got 79hp stock). So I think I just bought a bike with less hp to begin with, so I won't reach the 100 or so hp that Freedom and some folks on this site have seen. Now as for the summary of my experience with the "kit". When I put the pipes on I lost one spring to the garage somewhere???? and broke one and stretched one. The heat shield next to the brake would not clear the brake. By the time I found someone to grind it I removed the shield and another spring broke. I also noticed that not only was my brake hitting the heat shield but was hitting the actual pipe as well. So now my brake chrome is trashed in that area and the pipe needs to somehow be clearenced so it doesn't hit the brake pedal. I just found out about the pipe hitting the brake today. I'll be calling Freedom on Monday, but MY experience so far has been a mild disappointment. The bend Freedom put in the pipe to clear the brake did not do the trick for MY bike. I will also suggest to Mark and Brad that they commit to a % increase instead of an actual hp/tq number. I think it is a fairer way to express their claim of hp/tq increase. I have no doubt based on my conversations with both Mark and Brad in the past that they will do what they can to help fix the issue. My concern is that I have to do all this follow up and modifying to a product that was suppose to work without any hassles (once bend was put in). I do enjoy the increase in power, but I would sure like to know what 103 or so hp feels like!

CVODave,
Sorry to hear about the problem with Freedom.
However base on what you have said, This has helped on what I may do.
I have the SE pipes now.  Thinking on going the RT way and not the PC.
Heading to Maggie Valley next week. This will give me a chance to hear the Freedom pipes and see what others have done.
Let us know what Freedom has to say about the fit and the problems you had.

Yes you can still hear the radio fine. As far as how loud, the sound is behind you so it doesn't seem to bad at all.

The people at freedom have always been great with any issues that I have had (broken rear header,  broken springs)  they overnighted the rear header at no cost and said just send the old one back some time.  Talk to them they are good guys.

Mr. Magoo

I have no doubt they are great people. I have talked to Mark about the issue and sent him every dyno sheet, detail sheet on the base line and after mods as well as pictures of the pipe being rubbed by the brake peddle. I'm waiting to here from Brad on what he thinks may be going on and what they can do about getting me a pipe that fits the SEEG. It isn't a lost cause and I'm more than willing to keep an open mind on the cause of low HP/TQ. Right now because of the pipe rubbing I can't ride which is a bit of a bummer.
