Howie...I've got the HD long angled ones, adjusted so that I can put the arch of my foot on the pegs or just prop my heal up on top if I want to get my leg totally straight.  I've a 29" inseam.  With the longer version, and all the adjustment ability, you can get them in a position that would be comfortable for anyone except those with 33" or longer inseams.  Let me see if I can find a pic of mine installed...here you go.  I like mine a bit higher.  The HD version is a nice piece...I've not had the Kury in hand, but I'm sure it is nice as well.  I'm sure I've got a side photo somewhere if you need me to find it...

Thanks again guys. They look good on Terry's bike and seem like I'll be able to adjust them to suit. I still think I want to see my choices and kinda mock them up on the bike to see how they feel. I'm going to the Dealer this week to get something and was hoping the had both in stock. On Sat I'm going to my friends shop and hopefully he'll have the Kury's to see also. Then I saw these: http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=3233 Anyone seen them? This is getting silly! ;) Hoist! 8)

Howie,
I'm with Gary.  I've used the Kury dualies on my last two ultras.  Mounted kinda low so I can rest my heels on the floorboards and toes on the pegs, but can also stretch out if I like.
I ordered the HD "long angled" ones for the new CUSE.  Plan to set them low like the Kurys.

Can I assume from these posts that the buit in (on) footrests on the mustache bars are too difficult to reach or poorly placed for the average rider?

Hoist, I have the long angle ones and am not happy with them. They bring the pegs to close for comfort for me. I have the short angle's on order.

sorry but,.....I'm already married.........

LOL

5'10", 34" inseam,

problem with them, there too close for comfort, does not allow me to strecth out. With me, my legs are still about 90 degree angle. Fit and finish TOP Notch...

PS, I ride with my back rest forward and at low position (more room for wifey).....

I believe it will depend on controls...handlebars, footpegs etc.... also my ride is the Ultra. I wonder if the handlebars are in a differant position than the RK?

Good luck

Thanks Rick. now I know there's no other way. I have to get my new Apes on and go try different mounts. The SEUC's aren't SERK's and handlebar and seating position will definitely affect how you want your legs stretched. If I didn't wind up with the Ironside Pegs, I probably wouldn't be looking for them. The Moustache bars fit me fine. But on trips, it's nice to have multiple options. Hoist! 8)

I have the 360 degree long angle mounts and if the pegs were to close then all that would be needed would be to pivot them away from your body. If further adjustments needed you can also loosen the mount on the bar and adjust vertically until you found your comfort level. As usual I may be missing something here and if so my apologies in advance.

I wouldn't say they are difficult to reach, but I do not like the position.  I was telling Twolane the other day, that the position of those footrests makes me feel like I'm visiting the OBGYN (no offense ladies, and not that I have an idea what that is like, I'm just guessing from my time there when the wife was pregnant).  Anyway, you end up with your legs in the air and your knees in your chest.  I want to stretch out on highway pegs, not pull my legs in.  On really long road trips I might use them a little as just a different position to ride in for a while, but otherwise they will be merely cosmetic.

Later,

with my lowers on, the long angle adjustments only allow two positions, 180 degrees from each position. The pegs do not rotate at 90 degrees????? or just maybe I'm an idiot, ....(which would not suprise anyone) but I could not figure them out...... :nixweiss:

I like the Kuryakyn ISO Wings. Set so that you can still rest your heel on the floorboard they are just like having a forward floorboard.

Very comfortable.

Hey rmarion, you don't get to take my title of "hd idiot" that easily.  ;D  My guess is that maybe we are talking about different mounts or maybe we are having just a lack of communication. My apologies if either is the case. After reading your post I went out and checked my mounts. If you adjust the 3/4" bolt that tightens the clamp to the engine guard, you can swing the arm containing the pegs in a full 360 degree circle. So if you start with the long arm that holds the pegs being horizontal to the ground  and as near the rider as they can be while  on the inside of the engine guard,  you can move the arm that holds the pegs higher and thus make them further from the rider. You will eventually end up with the arms being parallel with the engine guard. From this position you can continue to rotate the arms in an outward motion, going towards the front of the bike and farther away from the rider. The arm will then swing down to the bottom of the arc again being parallel with the engine guard. Finally I returned it to its original position. So in other words by loosening the 3/4 " bolt the arm that holds the pegs will rotate in a full 360 degree circle. You can stop anywhere you want to in this circle, tighten the bolt and your pegs become stationary at your point of choice.  You can also slightly adjust the pegs themselves without moving the arms by loosening the 1/4" allen head that is on the inside of the arm opposite of where the pegs are mounted to it. If that bolt  is loosened the pegs rotate in a 360 degree circle for fine tuning your comfort level, while the arm is stationary. Hopefully this makes some sense.

These mounts from Kuryakyn work great with fairing lowers.

"These Cruise Pegs with positive locking Quick Clamps offer an incredible range of adjustability. The entire assembly may be moved up or down on the engine guard. The arm and footpeg may be further adjusted along a vertical or horizontal arc. A unique clevis permits angle adjustment of the footpeg.
The heavy duty Quick Clamp and sturdy offset arm insures that the footpegs will clear fairing lowers and will stay where you put them! Tour-Tech Cruise Peg Mounts are available by themselves, permitting the use of most H-D style male mount peg, or with a variety of Küryakyn footrests.
Recommended for: H-D touring models, FLSTC, or any model using 1-1/4" Engine Guards. Works great with Fairing Lowers! Sold in pairs."
