Kuryakyn Adjustable Passenger pegs
« on: March 19, 2007, 11:25:58 AM »

Attempted to install the Kuryakyn adjustable footpegs for the passenger boards and they would not fit.

Has anyone successfully mounted these to an 07?

Any suggestions/alternatives?

What about them doesn't fit?  The 07 SEUC has a different passenger floorboard arrangement than prior years, but I have not been able to see one up close long enough to see exactly what's different.

’07 Dressers and Road Kings (including ‘07 Screamin’ Eagle FLHTCUSE), equipped with stock passenger boards and mounts must purchase:
• P/N 7926 Adjustable Passenger Pegs
• P/N 4561 Extended Passenger Board Mount, Chrome (ea)
• P/N 4569 Passenger Board Mount, Chrome (ea)

Note: Adjustable passenger board mounts standard on FLHTCUSE must be removed in order to install Kuryakyn Adjustable Passenger Pegs.

Chief, I checked out the parts, etc. from Kuryakyn and that is the only option.

7926 adjustable pegs are not wide enough at the base - considered grinding them but would not work.

BTW, I ground the  left one for the 02 Road King to "make" it fit, since there was not enough clearance for the Rineharts on that side.  Now they offer an extension.

I'm still not sure I understand if the adjustables will fit or not with the CVO Adjustable Passenger boards. I hope somebody can 'splain it to me. I would like to get them, if they fit.

Chief,
I have the Kurys on my 03 ultra.  The passenger floorboard mounts on the older bikes is "square" and so is the opening on the yoke of the Kury adj. passenger peg.  Since I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CUSE YET, but I have looked at one, the adjustable passenger floor boards on the 07 CUSE has a mount that is more "rounded".  the Kury adj pass pegs won't fit - the ol' square peg in a round hole business.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, cause my bride is REALLY unhappy about have to give up those pegs.

Chief...do you know anyone handy with an 04-06 SEUC?  If so, take a look at the floorboard supports to see if they are the same as yours...I would bet they are, but I haven't seen one enough to pay attention to that piece.  If they are, you will have to lose the piece that makes yours adjustable...is that a seperate piece from the actual support?  If you lose that piece, and the support mounts to the frame like the models mentioned above, then I might have a simple solution for you that I used to put them on my bike with the RH's...just a 5/8" spacer, but works like a charm.

Here's the pic of the '07 pegs. I would have to throw a lot away.

Chief...do your supports look like this?  I think they do since the part number for the actual Kury pegs is the same.  Looks like you'd lose the pivoting part of the floorboard support, but nothing else.  I stole this photo from another thread...

Yes. That is the same base mount shape, with the recess in the top side. To switch, I would have to replace everything except the floorboard itself.

<EDIT>Let me change my original response. No. Mine are different.</EDIT>

Chief, If it's the same floorboard support as prior year SEEG's SEUC's, the Kury pegs will bolt up to the support...it's the RH's that are the problem.  I have a simple solution for that problem that I can have machined.  It's a simple 5/8" spacer/pin to move the floorboard support out from the frame, made out of solid aluminum.  Get your powdercoat friend to do it in black, and voila, your Kury pegs will bolt on and have clearance.

See this thread to see if they will work for you:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=10470.0
