Here's the latest progress pic of my hard bags. The pic is kinda crappy, but you get the idea. He used some thin painter's tape to outline the rear triangle for the marbling. It's way too large and looks out of place. I hope you don't mind miker, but I sent him some rear shots of your bags and asked him to do it like on miker's bags. Gene saw it and fully agrees. So the marbling on the rear of the bags will look like miker's bags. You can see the raised flames on the lid. And we did the leafed flame lower on the bag than miker's. And the ghost "screamin' eagle 110" is going on the sides of the saddlebag lids, not the sides of the bags. All in all, it's looking good. He's supposed to finish them this weekend and ship them out on Mon. They should be here well before I leave for KY on the 8th!

Of course not...I wanna copy the SERKTQ motor when it is time and after it has the Time Tested Howie Stamp of Approval.

It has to look right to you, the owner. 
I was after continuity along the bike... The bag triangles are the same as the tank.
I do like lid flame......What color will the script be?

The script will be a blue pearl or blue clear, for a ghost effect on the sides of the lids. He didn't want anything to take away from the flames. If he nails the marble and the script, they'll look really cool and definitely be one of a kind!

Talk to me after HS. I'll probably have 5000-7000 miles on the new top end by then. If it holds up for that long, I hope I'm good!

I'm going to have him do my mine - razor red. Finally found some hard bags - I emailed him (Gene) last week but haven't heard anything back as of yet. I might give him a call later this week. When I talked to him a while back he said that he has done some red bags and can match the factory razor red perfectly - I sure hope to hell that's correct.
I'm thinking of doing the flames on the lower part of the bag but nothing on the top. I have a set of saddlebag spolilers that I'm going to have him paint as well - maybe put a mini-flame on the top of them. Hoist, let us know how well he matches the color and the flames as compared to the factory. Everyone I've talked to says he won't be able to match my gold flames - no clue if he can or if he can't - but I gotta get rid of the leather look bags -went to our state rally this last weekend and the more I use 'em the more I dislike 'em.
Keep us informed - and I'll let everyone know what he says about the red ones as soon as I hear from him.

Hey Greg, definitely call him. He doesn't check his email very often. He's not a computer dude and usually has his daughter check his email for him. He told me that he'd previously done the Razor Red too. I've never seen his work in person, only in Pics. But the pics looked good, and Roger's brother in WA state uses him. So do HD dealers in that area. Good recommendations, and nice work in the pics, are what led me to work with him. I'm very optimistic that he'll get it right! When I get them back, I'll post some pics of them!

Just managed to procure a brand new pair of hard bags from a friend who is going to be triking a Street Glide. $500 - so not a bad deal. Winter project will be to find a good painter for them. Lots of good ideas on here for positioning of flames etc. so it should be a breeze.

That a fair take Nige...I dropped 6 bennies on mine then few more to paint em and little bit more for spoilers, lid liners, bag liners, latch covers and keyed locks.....I think that is it

Gene sent me a pic! They came out great. I think he forgot to incorporate the logo I sent him for the tops for the script. But it came out awesome anyway!

Not the best pic, but you'l get the idea. I'll have lotsa pics when I get them on the bike next week!
