Hey Hoist...
Any word on your bags yet??? I just bought a set of hard bags and am going to send them to Gene for painting and such. Just wondering how yours are coming - seems like it's taking forever. Maybe if I get mine to him now I'll have them by Spring. I just hope he's gonna be able to match the Razor Red and the gold flames - I'm also thinking of having him do some type of a gold skull on the back of the bags - you know, something that'll flow with the flame graphics.
Let me know what's happening!
Strohkr

He was supposed to finish them early last week, but the lid spoilers never showed up. They're there now. But he left for Sturgis last Thurs. I imagine he'll be back by Mon. He should finish them by the end of next week, or thereabouts. I expect to receive them by 8/25. With my engine project going on, I haven't needed them anyway. My next substantial trip is to Hot Springs in Sept. So everything should be together well before then. That's all I need out of the deal right now! Full report to follow! ;)

He's done the Red already, so that should be no problem. Neither should the graphics. He's doing some ghost graphics for me too. I haven't been pushing him at all. He did say about 6 weeks. There's another week shipping each way. So 8 weeks total. Aug 11 will be 2 months, so 2.5 months isn't too bad I guess. No problem for a winter project. Plus, we have other bags to use anyway.

Howie, I really like the hard bags, I'd change the latches to black them out, or billet, but looks good! If anything happens to my original RK bags I'm going this route.

I knew you would Dennis. Now it's Travis turn to chime in too, and we'll be all caught up! ::) Hoist! 8)

Sorry, I just got back from vacation.  Are we dumping on Howie's black bike?  I was surprised that I didn't see more black SERKs in Sturgis.  I guess they were either hard to see in the "black" hills... ;D, or the owners were too embarrased to bring them out.   :-[

Thats all I could come up with on short notice.  I'll do better next time.

Yeah SD you tell him! ;D

And I seriously doubt that a red one is faster than a black one! Travis, I'll be seeing you at the track in HS so you can show me that the red ones are fastest! ::) How'd the bike do on the trip? Hope you had a blast! :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks guys! That's very humbling, especially when that compliment comes from people from this site! That makes me proud to impress anyone from this crowd! I'm not sure everyone will agree, but I tried to do everything I could to get this thing where I want it and what my idea of a Hot Rod Road King should be. Fast, handles great, stops great, and comfy! Full touring capability and track worth, all in one! :2vrolijk_21:

You too Miker!

I rode down to Atlanta and had Traxxion do the work there. Great guys there. I'm waiting on their BiTubo Dual Sport bike shocks to come in now. That'll finish suspension. Brakes go on this week. Full report at the end of the month, or thereabouts.

That fork saved me from going down last night. I was behind a car and found myself ready to enter a "crater" sized pothole. I knew I was F'ed! I prepared for it dirt bike style, as it was too late to avoid, and expected the front to hit like a brick. It banged pretty hard, but came right out of it. Didn't bang up or scrape anything. I was amazed. I also expected to have bent the rim. Bike rode fine. The end cap broke free fron the throttle grip and went flying, it hit so hard. I believe I would have gone down, or screwed something up really good, if not for the Traxxion!!! I can not say enough good things about that front end!!! :2vrolijk_21:

The springs aren't even there anymore. It's a full cartridge conversion.  Night and day difference in the handling of the bike.  Literally has to be experienced as a description just can't convey the difference you'll feel.  That it's proven to be an excellent company to work with also is icing on the cake.
