Would you happen to know if that's going to occur on the morning of the 12th? 400 miles from Atlanta to Memphis means one day. That's the 11th. I'll have to do my bike on the 10th. No time in deal's Gap. Boo! If that ride's on the 13th. I'll get a day in NC! I assumed everyone was arriving the evening of the 12th. Man, so little time, so much to do! ;) Hoist! 8)

Don, does Traxxion install performance brakes too, or just suspension. Might be a good time to do the calipers too. What do you think?

I'm booked in to the hotel at HS on Thursday night.  That seemed to be what the majority of others were doing to.  Not an absolute by any means.  But it seemed the more common option.

Traxxion isn't a full service shop.  Their parts is what they do.  They are so attuned to their own tasks too I'd probably not be inclined to distract them.  Especially for something as simple as a caliper swap.  Bolt them on before you leave.  You know you're going to want chrome stoppers against those bad ass rebuilt legs when you're done.

I'm reserved for the 12th also. I'll probably head straight to Atlanta on Sat to do the work on Mon. I have a friend in Atlanta that invited us to stay with them. That'll give Barrie (wifey) something to do also, while I'm at the shop!

I'll probably do the calipers somewhere between now and then. I like those 4 pad Brembos, but like Terry, I'm not crazy about those brackets. So far, thinking of the PM's. We'll see.

Just thought of something....

One thing that might be worthwhile to ask them to do, that won't be above and beyond for them, is a quick change of the cowbells.

Our slider covers are all chrome.  That's good.  Chrome is good.  But they're plain unadorned boring chrome cowbells.  The common (but accessory) alternative is these things.  The little emblem is nice.  But the beveled edge around the bottom actually makes far more of a difference for appearance in the immediate before and after first impression.

Harley also has a set of slider covers that are chromed with flames sculpted in.  Whatever floats anyone's boat of course.  When the legs are already out, however, is certainly the time to take the extra five minutes and make the change.

I was in pretty much the same boat.  Brembos for most excellent stop-ness.  Just never could pull the trigger on the extra bracketry.

Between PM and Hawg Halters the difference in application is at best marginal.  Same sized pistons/bores with nearly identical volumes in the chambers behind them.  I actually prefer the visual impression of the PMs.  Only seeing that built in disc lock in the Hawg Halters is what pushed me over the edge in that direction.

I'll likely have them bolted on this weekend.  Will send you a picture after they're on sometime so you can see what they look like in the real world.

OK, pulling my forks and off they go on Tuesday to Traxxion.  I'm really looking forward to the change.

What is the best way to go for the rear shocks to mate with the new front end set up?

Roger, talk to them about the new Italian dual sport bike shocks, they're testing now for our bikes. They're very high on these. I'm hoping they get these right, as am planning on using them myself. He says they're much better than the 440's. And they'll be about half the price as Legends. If you check, let me know the latest. ;) Hoist! 8)

Will do, I just sent the order form and queried them too.  I thought the sporties were some time off in the future though, may need to go with best alternative, unless I can stick with the stock set up and still get the front end benefit until the have the R & D completed.

They might be a little ways out, but they're undergoing testing now. From what I've heard so far, they'll be worth waiting for. The new SERK is set up so nice, except for that squirrely front end. Pushed the bike a little yesterday and that front end is definitely a weak link. They definitely improved the geometry though, with the 17"/18' Radial combo. After reading Don's and Terry's reports,I'll have a hard time waiting til Sept, knowing that's exactly what the SERK needs! Looking forward to you reports! Hoist! 8)

Rog, they're aren't the most expensive option but the Progressive 440s on the red bike have proved to be a good mate in the rear to the TD suspension in the front.

The stock setup just royally sucks.  The alternatives they're considering were suggested to be quite some time out too.  At least that was the strong impression I was given while hanging around the shop for a couple days.  Nearer terms options will likely be the order of the day.

I know Traxxion is a vendor for the 440's, I'll have to see what $$$ they offer and compare elsewhere, sure would be nice to get a good price and buy at one place.
