Just got back from Atlanta ( woodstock actually) for the Traxxion dynamic install. Pretty amazing stuff. At their shop there are a bunch of rain runoffs to driveways, took several at 25 to 30 miles an hours with the abrupt "jump" still easy to control. Front end stopping with "controlled" lock of front braker from 35 mph with minimal nose dive . Leaning aggressively is way more secure. Overall get a double "WOW"! :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
I know Terry(TC) and Don (2LN) went to the facility, and if you get to go it is a very impressive machining area and super nice folks. If you got a question about a suspension they got more answers than you probably want to know or hear!  When they were all done with install they even re wrapped and boxed all OEM part ( when was the last time your stealer did that?).  Made a day of it, and if you get the chance worth watching them put together then put on bike. John

John,  Glad to hear your good impressions of the Traxxion install and the results in performance you speak of. :2vrolijk_21:  Those forks really look great on the bike...you did a great job in capturing the burgundy flame in the front fender...it looks fantastic, man.

I can't imagine anyone not having the WOW out of this mod.  Has to be the biggest single improvement I have made in the bike, just ahead of my custom seat rebuild.

Terry,
thanks for thumbs up on lower fork covers ( still have to give Don (2LN) the cudo on the SE head that was the IT), the color and design of flames looks even better in person than in the pix ( even if I do say myself, but naturally I would!). But to put the handling and ride on top of the appearance, it just incredible (the fork changes were just icing on the cake, and notice I actually did wait as you suggested to put on all at once!)  John  ;D

John, just realized I didn't ask who did the pretty work on your parts?  Was it the same place that did mine or did the similar work come from someone else's hand?

Don,
originally had another company working on design but VERY slow! so when I saw yours ( compliments of http://www.sanjoyengraving.com/home.html) I contacted them with mock ups I had. Even went to shop in Vegas to visit and they did the original engraving layout while I was there-pretty cool stuff to watch and whole shop full of chrome bling! Not to belabor the point but you do get the"imitation is sincerest form of flattery" award for the screamin eagle head because that IMHO is what really sets it off. John

Cool, since the bird heads looked so similar I was guessing it might be the same hands doing the cutting.  Would've been very interesting to watch them do the work.  That kind of artistic skill is beyond my abilities.  Even though the air cleaner cover with pretty much the same bird and some other work got done I have to thank Mr. CNC and my time at a plotting table for the way it finished up.  No way I could set down and just draw or engrave something like that.

Glad that shop did such a nice job for you.  Did you bring them a pic of the fender to get the squiggly flames effect from?  Or was that part of the mock up you had to begin with?  However it got started the end result is sweet  :2vrolijk_21: .

Don,
Jason is the artist. I started with the tank emblem, drew flames in 2 dimension, then put flames vertically with tank emblem in middle. Cut and pasted a mock drawing, then sent this to them and also attachment of tank and fender with the exact flame designs. He perfected the "waviness" and the height changes. And the rest as they say is history. Getting ready to start on AC cover insert design for a BAD ASS covers AC cover. ( guess I will post opinion poll on SEUC thread site). John

Question:

When I was giving Howie's bike a test spin the other day, I could hear a noticeable "squish" or "hiss" on fork compression. I don't remember that on don's bike doing the same test spin.

Do any of you other Traxxion converts hear that, or could this be a RK thing that is not noticeable on the FLH's?

No squishy hissy on mine that I hear, I would think if it was there it would be noticeable on braking at lower speed even with the fairing etc. of the SEUC/SEEG.  If it was doing that was it diving more as well?  When I hit the brakes there is very little nose dive.

It was riding fine, but on hitting the bumps I was aiming for, I could definitely hear it. It should be silent, unless air was leaking past the fork seal.

Right after install when hitting the rain gutters at Traxxion dynamics road at about 30 to 35 I heard the noise you were speaking about, but on routine bumps and turns on roads no further noises. john

I haven't heard any type of noise like Chief mentioned on mine (knock wood)..  I know I appreciate mine the more I ride and especially on roads that gave me problems before.  Low speed handling is an added benefit.

It was definitely under a good bit of compression. I couldn't figure out what exactly I was hearing. Maybe it hisses REAL LOUD inside the forks and it transmits out some way.
