Spec for 07  is the same  :2vrolijk_21: and also the primary case  is 38oz   wet fill   and 45oz  if a dry fill..   same as engine oil   or  red line   MTL   is my choice.     I use the shockproof  Heavy in the trans and it is quiet and shifts clean and easy!    Jacques,  I had much trouble shifting and finding neutral as well as  the clutch not releasing.  It  became a big problem and took lots of bleeding as well as a trip to HD  for more secret massaging. Its all fixed. but it progressivly crept in and started as a neutral fishing issue.    just my .02

when I installed the SE 6 speed on my bike, I asked the same question here on this site, I recieved different info on the tranny ei some said 24 oz some said 32 oz. so I was not sure, my solution was to warm the bike up to operating temp, then drain the tranny, and measure in a measuring cup the amount that came out, in my case it was 32 oz, so you might want to check to be sure!!!! Glad to hear that you managed to start riding. Also great that the new bike is running well.

On my FatBoy it is still sometimes difficult to find Neutral but I personally believe it will get easier within miles. Certainly nothing to worry about.

Good luck with changing oil and let us know the result!

All the best!

Jim,
We got out yesterday finally and rode 182 miles, even got a little sun burn in the face.  Have 791 miles on the scoot now, hope to get to the 1,000 mile mark this week so that I can start the mods like exhaust, etc...

Spring is finally around the corner for us Yankees!!!

Jim, I am running both, couldn't find either here. so I ordered off the net!!!! was a great improvment in engine and tranny......... so, you may want to concider getting it shipped in. just my 2 cents!!! Randy

I've been thinking about it Randy - I was wondering what it would cost to ship.  Any idea of a place that would ship some to me?

Glad for you, Jim ! First ride, first wash .....

You've not problem with the hot ?

Here, it was snowy, windy, not good weather !

No problem with my gearbox only for the first start of the day, I've a big Clunk when I go in first.

Jacques

Hi Jacques.

First wash completed, very  thoroughly - the bike was white with salt all over, in every location!

We've had nice weather for the last few days, but still very cold!

Jim,
I get my Redline products from CDOC who are local to me, but do ship (not sure about outside USA). Also PM hd-dude concerning Amsoil (he's a dealer) as an alternative to the Syn3 in the motor. Not sure as for shipping (if it's available/allowed to be shipped outside US) it may get pricey, but worth checking to see if you can get some better fluids in your bike.

Thanks d00d.  :)  At the risk of starting an oil thread,  :nervous:   does everyone think Amsoil is better than Mobil 1 V-Twin?  I ran ordinary Mobil 1 in my 06, and it was fine. I have to say that I've always been a fan of Mobil synthetics, ever since they supplied it free (then called Mobil SHC) to run in my Rally Car, in the late '70s.

But I want the best, so if Amsoil is better, that'll do for me!

Jim,

I found this bid on ebay for Mobil 1 V Twin 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil, buy it now 9.49$ but Orders that are less than $100 US will be cancelled.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mobil-1-V-Twin-20W-50-Motorcycle-Oil_W0QQitemZ5676846035QQcategoryZ88433QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

What are the reference for the Red Line ?

Jacques

Yes, I saw that one last week, Jacques.   I wish Mobil would sell it in Europe!  Actually I know a guy who gets it in the UK, but - sadly - just enough for himself!  He has an American friend on a USAAF base near to him, and he can buy it on the base.  Wish I could!
