I have my 2019 set how I want it. Color I can live with, but the drivetrain is VERY nice with a little help from my friends!
(Thanks Dave for the input from your 2019 build, it helped with my decision what to build into my motor! LOL)

2019 with over 100,000 miles and still running strong.
You are welcome.  100K is awesome.  That build is so much fun to ride, and easy to ride with power every where.

My 2021 CVO Street Glide FLHXSE is exactly what I imagine a Harley to look like: lots of chrome and a beautiful paint scheme.
I upgraded the engine to a 131 cubic inch (cui), and the seat and handlebars are perfectly tuned for me.
The suspension I've changend to Bitubo cartridges at the front and Ohlins HD 779s at the rear.

I've had my CVO since August 2021 and have ridden 34,000 km without any mechanical issues.
There's no reason for me to switch to one of the currently available CVOs.
At almost 69, I'll ride my actual Street Glide for as long as I can and the bike is running  :)

I just do not like the looks of the newer bikes. the electronics on the newer bikes is another reason for dislike.

The way the new bikes depreciate keeps me from even considering new.  So many very low mileage mint bikes with desirables adds for a fraction of the price of new!

I really need to upgrade as mine is 13 years old and over 100k on the clock. Paint for the past 10 has been blah. You can't just stick a CVO emblem on a scoot and make it special. Therefore, I am stuck in the past. Bars are now 12" meat hooks.

Good looking King.  Now days one or two of the paint schemes look good.  Prior to 15 every paint scheme look great.

I won't buy a new one because I like the one I have.

Yes, the newer ones have bigger motors and no doubt go faster, but I'm happy with my 2006 CVO Ultra.  And make no mistake, I WANTED the 2006 because it had the venerable CVO 103 engine.  Too many others saw nothing but issues with their 110s and I wanted no part of that.

Yes my Harley bike is old and has a 112k on it, but I had the motor rebuilt at 83k by Jim at Metal Dragon and it's been rock solid for me.  The main reason I prefer my 2018 GoldWing these days is the modern amenities of reverse gear and height adjustable windscreen. And as I have gotten older, the reverse makes all the difference.  You would think that HD would acknowledge it's aged customer base with reverse.  And it's not like It can't be done because it's offered on the trike and by a host of aftermarket vendors.

That and I think the prices of all the Harleys are just crazy overpriced.  I'm sure the economy, mismangement and the tariffs have something to do with that, but that's a lot of money.  Speaking only for myself I'll keep the bikes I have and use my money to go on tours, overseas trips and vacations.

I actually test rode a 2025 BMW 1600 Grand America and a 2025 Gold Wing about 3 weeks ago thinking one of them would really speak to me. Both have some great features for the money and features I wish my 2020 CVO Road Glide had including amazing suspension. When it was all said and done, neither gave me that "I MUST have this bike" feeling. I rode away content on my Road Glide. In fact, all it did was put into perspective how much I still loved it. Aside from the customizations for our style and comfort, it still hasn't had a failure with over 211,000 miles now. We're emotionally attached because of the experiences, and it will probably never be sold (no one would want it because of the mileage anyways).

A day will come when a new bike is necessary, but it won't be any time soon, and it probably won't be a Harley. It was hard enough to stomach paying what I did for mine. I'm not going to spend $50k+ on another. And that's probably what a CVO with a tour pack is going to cost.

That was also a bike I considered before buying the Honda.  What did you think of the BMW?  I found it to be a little too top heavy for me which made it cumbersome doing slow speed work. I always felt like it was going to tip over and I had to really slip the clutch to keep it up.  But it was an amazing go fast machine!  It put out more horsepower than I could ever use.

You would be amazed at how may low mileage cvos are selling to 40% off original keep just 3 or 4 years later.

I would have liked to keep my 2016 Limited with the cool paint job but, alas it was traded in after my accident on a 2917 with a crap color due to the time constraints getting the insurance and HD to get the parts to do the repairs.
All cosmetic, but long lead time for painted parts!

Oh well, the 2017 didn’t last long either with mechanical problems.

The BMW was a blast to ride. Up until then I had only ridden V-twin cruisers, so to me it was like a rocket. The bike itself is gorgeous and has some cool features. Stock suspension is better than any aftermarket suspension I've ever had.

Some turn-offs:

- Touring tires still have low tread life. I can't afford tire changes every month.
- Onboard GPS sucks, and no Android Auto capability.
- The maintenance frequency and cost would be an issue.
- The tour pack capacity is very small compared to HD.
- As you mentioned, it feels like you're sitting on top which is something I'd maybe get used to with saddle time.

If I'm going to drop that much money, I need something where all boxes are checked off. I'd probably still get one before anything else right this moment.
