110 lifters
« on: Yesterday at 11:16:49 AM »

I have a 2015 cvo limited stock 110 with 23k miles on it and I'm starting to get some ticking noise. The ESP warranty is about to run out so I'm taking it into the dealer and they recommend upgrading to the Gaterman HD1023 lifters. Any new experiences with them good or bad? The dealer said they keep the Gatermans in stock or should I request S&s Premiums?

I can't speak to what lifters you should use, but I can say it is time to change them.

That sounds about right.  Some riders just factor in a lifter swap with every 3rd oil change.  Just the cost of ownership.

The reason for lifter failures and the associated damage was caused by the high loading on them, caused by high spring pressures, unless you have high lift cams and like to rev to over 6200, I would change to different springs, in order to lessen the high spring pressures, as for the lifters, I don`t think S&S do standard and premium lifters anymore, in all probability they all premiums now, just changed mine out for Fueling race lifters, the S&S lifters started to get a bit slow pumping up if the bike had been left standing for more than a few days.
