Replace again?
« on: October 22, 2025, 07:20:02 PM »

Had my lifters replaced at 19k miles with fueling hp. The independent that did the replacement gave me the stock lifters back and showed me there was very little to no wear on them. By the end of next season will be around 19k-20k on the lifters. The bike makes no noise as far as the lifters. Should I have them replaced again? The unfortunate thing is my independent retired a few years ago and haven’t found a suitable replacement. Don’t wanna pay a harley dealer to do it and not sure if I feel comfortable doing it myself, what say all you smart guys on the forum?

Thanks Kevin

Did your Indy use adjustable pushrods or remove the rocker boxes?  It’s not all that difficult to replace the lifters either way, just a little time consuming.

How do I find out the adjustment procedure for the pushrods on my bike? I bought from a guy , and it has gear drive cams to make it a 112” or 113” motor. So I was told

You can 'open' a pushrod cover, lift it up and see if it has adjustable pushrods. YouTube how to replace lifters.

You’d have to YouTube that, mine are solid so I went through the Rocker Boxes to remove them when I replaced my cam chain tensioners.  If they’re adjustable, you can lift the covers up to remove them.

He put in adjustable push rods. What lifters would you guys recommend? He originally put in fueling hp+ but they were to noisy for my liking so replaced with fueling hp, but all I can find are fueling hp+ online. I should also say I talked to Fuel moto about doing their 113 kit but I don’t have the amount of pennies needed to do it. Talked to another shop about possibly changing the cam and dyno tune but, still don’t have enough pennies for that either.
