LZ,

I'm the guy that LIttleton Harley put you in touch with when you were shopping around for a solution.  Glad to hear you've got the issue worked out.  I was riding up north of Laconia earlier this week and ran up to 110 with no issues at all.  I have the 440s and I love 'em.  Front suspension is next on my list to replace.

Found an advert in the current issue of Hot Bike for a gizmo called the "True-Track" that claims to "stop REARSTEER ! ! ! WIGGLING WOBBLING OSCILLATION ON YOUR . . . HARLEY DAVIDSON DRESSER or ROAD KING with Rear Suspension Stablization Device"

Yes, by coincidence I was looking at his dyno sheet on the Gerolamy site yesterday!  Interesting.  It's a shame it's so expensive, though.

Yes, I did wonder about ground clearance with the True-Track, and I have to say that the Ride-Str8 looks like a nicer solution to me, but man the price!!! :-(   Looks like all of these guys subscribe to the "if you can afford a Harley, you can afford silly money for our product" type of gouging.......  If the Moco, biggest gougers of all can make their normal profit margin making a whole 883 Sporty for the price if 14 Ride-Str8s, I have to say the profit margin is very, very, high!  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Well, to say a 'wobble' is not unsafe.......I don't buy that.   Not that you can't control some of them.  A low-speed wobble is one thing, but at higher speeds and you're going into a corner and it suddenly becomes a 'tank-slapper'.....well, if you've lived through even one of those, it's hard to say that a wobble is not unsafe.  JMHO.   [smiley=dead.gif]  Har!  spyder

I'd be very interested, but he'd need to do better on the prices still.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Ladies & Gentlemen,
It is my opinion there are too many variables involved, to nail down one specific cause for the "High Speed Wobble", that I have experienced from time to time, on my Bagger.  It has ranged from slight, to violent.  I cannot recall its occurrence at any time, under the speed of 105 MPH.  I have also experienced this "Wobble", and it then mysteriously correct itself a little further on down the road.  Add to that, the times I have ridden rather aggressively all day long, and not experience a "Wobble", at all!  Head winds, tail winds, PSI in tires and shocks, High-Speed flat spots in tires, Tall windshields as opposed to short ones, cold weather, hot weather, wind draft from Box Trailers, Car Haulers, ad infinitum!  The facts are, the cure for my most violent "Wobble", was putting the grease, to an otherwise dry, gooseneck!  If you are an aggressive rider, and many of us here definitely are, you "WILL" experince the "Wobble!"  There is not now, nor will there ever be, a permanent cure for this, at high speed.  Lastly, here's a fact of life for those with little, or no experience, in this inevitable situation;  Gradual deceleration, when the "Wobble" occurs, is more favorable than shutting it down immediately, to avoid serious injury, or death! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  There endeth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD
