i dont feel that the ride str8 helped. i still get the wobble in certain conditions. i wish someone had the answer!

I don't have the answer, but I suspect the fairing.  I have days when it doesn't do it and days when it does.  It has been real windy in my state lately.  The bike doesn't handle it as well as my Heritage.  The SEEG is my first fairing bike.  It is also the first rubber mounted engine in this size range.  I sometimes think the torque is changing the dynamics at high speeds.  But my logic tells me the ride str8 should compensate for that condition. There is definite turbulence from air around the fairing.  At least in my case it's not air over the fairing but air under and inside of it.  Especially in a position like rear quartering behind a semi the air come up inside the fairing and will start a bit of a shake.

When I first started riding this bike I didn't realize what it was and when to expect it.  Once figured out when it was likely to happen though it was no big deal.  But there can be a definite shake from air coming up inside the fair. It's a shake though, not a wobble.

Removing the lowers reduces a lot of pressure on the front of the bike.

I am going to try that also.  I don't use the storage anyway

I have a 04' FLHRCI and ride with 2 friends that have 05' SEEG's.  We all expressed the same concern about the "dance" when riding through sweeping turns at decent speeds - (we tend to ride at above average speeds).  We all had Tru-Tracks installed at Sturgis this year and were very pleased at the improvement in tracking when riding the same sweeping turns.  After returning home, my friends both installed Progressive 440's and said that they felt a little improvement in stability, but a somewhat harsher ride.  I went to a Metzler 880 at 8500 miles, pumped up the shocks to 38 lbs. (I am 6'4", 210lbs) and felt a marked improvement in cornering and the famed Harley "dance" in the same turns.

After taking all of this into account, it would appear that the "wobble", or "dance" is inherent to the touring frame and not so much a fairing or lowers issue - since I have neither and still had the problem.  I believe a Tru-Track, or Str8, with a Metzler 880 will do more to neutralize the problem than shocks or removing fiberglass.

Just 1 man's opinion.

Hi to all,

I am a first time poster but long time reader.  My 06 CVO Ultra has had the high speed wobbles from the very first ride and wobbles every time I go over 90 mph.  My last two bikes never wobbled, the 1st a 2001 Fat Boy and the next a 2004 Road Glide that was absolutely rock solid all the way to it

CVOinLV, man get that scooter into the dealer pronto.  Report your experience and tell them to go ride it and fix it period.  There are lots of reasons for a high speed wooble and the cause on your scoot needs to be found and fixed before you have a tank slapper and go down at such high speeds.  Get it fixed now.

The problem is, you're going to have a tough time going in to a dealer and say, "Ride this bike at 90+ mph 'cause there's a real bad wobble in it at those speeds."  In case of an accident, their insurance is not going to cover them for test riding the bike at those speeds.  I think the best you're going to be able to do is explain to them what the bike is doing at those speeds and suggest things for them to check.  I know that is not what you want to hear, but I'm pretty sure that is what you're going to find out about how they will handle a complaint such as this.

Man I just don't buy it that he has to accept this condition.  Guarantee you if I had a bike that did that wobble I would not have it for long if they did not fix it.  We have some real wide open spaces down here in south texas and it is not uncommon to run at 90mph for long periods of time down here.  Darned if I would own a $32K plus bike that could not do that safely.
