I have a 04' FLHRCI and ride with 2 friends that have 05' SEEG's. We all expressed the same concern about the "dance" when riding through sweeping turns at decent speeds - (we tend to ride at above average speeds). We all had Tru-Tracks installed at Sturgis this year and were very pleased at the improvement in tracking when riding the same sweeping turns. After returning home, my friends both installed Progressive 440's and said that they felt a little improvement in stability, but a somewhat harsher ride. I went to a Metzler 880 at 8500 miles, pumped up the shocks to 38 lbs. (I am 6'4", 210lbs) and felt a marked improvement in cornering and the famed Harley "dance" in the same turns.
After taking all of this into account, it would appear that the "wobble", or "dance" is inherent to the touring frame and not so much a fairing or lowers issue - since I have neither and still had the problem. I believe a Tru-Track, or Str8, with a Metzler 880 will do more to neutralize the problem than shocks or removing fiberglass.
Just 1 man's opinion.
