Well I'm back from Florida and ready to get the bike back home too. Call from the dealership says it's ready to go. Get my stuff together, helmet...check, leather jacket....check, camera....check, cell phone....check no leave it no take it what if....double check.
I get one of the guys to drop me off and pay for the service and work as they call down for someone to run the bike up front from the basement service area.
After five minutes I know I'm screwed. I ask the dispatcher to call down and see what's up. Turn signals aren't operating, crap, that's why it's still here from before I left. Oh well, there looking at it. Another five minutes, ask again, service manager is coming to let me know what's up.
Evidently when we lowered the bike......whoa, we didn't lower it, the 440's are stock height. Oh....well, the rear wire loom is rubbing on the tire and rubbed through and shorted out when they washed the bike.
Great, no really great I exclaim. You have obviously found the reason why when I rode to Nelson on the pre-run last summer I kept blowing fuses. We discuss the symptoms etc, and the fact that when I bring in the bike something is always in the ditch when I get it back after they wash it.
I never flood the bike with water like they do when they wash it and something always would be shorted etc. when they did. So, today hopefully after the repairs to the wiring, I'll finally be able to get it picked up and go for a ride.
Good news is the tech's think it rides great with the Traxxion mods and the 440's. I'll once again be ready with the aforementioned gear and for sure I'll have the camera since
