OK, not sure if this qualifies as a
but be forewarned
Beautiful SoCal Friday afternoon when I get out of work, so I go for little cruise around town on Elvis. Stop at Starbucks and park E out front right next to where I'm sitting. First incident, jackass smokin a cigarette flicks the butt over the seat ( YES $$$$$ that one) and there's ash on the seat from where the butt sailed over it. I tell the guy he's got the whole damn world to use as his personal ashtray, but not my motorcycle. He starts in with a bunch of chit and says " next thing I know you'll call me an a$$hole " I says " No, you're a F#$^in A$$hole " Evidently the look on my face says don't, cause he leaves. About 10 minutes later, woman pulls up in a silver Honda something that looks like a Mercedes knockoff. Bunch of teenagers get out and one of them walks smack into the side of E. Doesn't say a word, mom doesn't say a word. I say " gee what if I walked into the side of your shiny new car ? " " You better not " she says. "so why is my motorcycle any different ? " I ask. She mumbles something that sounds like she's dissin me, so I say " you know, I could buy two of whatever that thing is you're driving for what that Harley sittin there is worth " " As if " she says and off she goes. So I gotta ask, what the hell ? Is this a SoCal thing or has anyone else noticed that an expensive motorcycle doesn't get the respect that an exotic car does by the general populace ? I guarantee you, if I'd had even the cheapest Lotus, the story above would not have taken place.
