Air flow meter.. need help please
« on: May 27, 2007, 07:21:57 AM »

Hi all I have Australian 2007 Ultra that has a air flow meter in the original filter box (I think it is different to US models) and when I fit a K&S filter (RK3909) and leave the wire disconnected the engine mangement light stays on. What should I do??? I tried shorting it out but the light stayed on..

Hello HMW000 !

:welcome_005: on the CVO website !

I send you the   :welcome_005: from FRANCE.
It'll be nice for the other members if you present you in the thread "New Member Introduction"
with a pic of your bike  :2vrolijk_21:

Concerning your request, you've an air flow meter just after the original filter box and I think a flap in the original filter box. Please, confirm me that.
I think your model is similar to the International models with flaps in air filter box and in the exhausts.
If you disconnect these, you've a DTC error code and the light stays on.
If you've a SERT, you've the possibility to unable the DTC errors codes and to unable the management of these flaps.
If your bike is stock, only the dealer is able to delete the errors codes.

For more informations concerning the International models, read these threads :

Also, you make a search with the words : flaps, european bikes or european models on this site.

On other site : http://www.hdforums.com/m_1272825/tm.htm, You've an australian guy that he sold the the intake solenoid eliminator and the other is the exhaust actuator eliminator.

Last point, you change your A/C, I think you need to put a new map in your ECM.
For a better job, I think you need to change the exhausts.

Best regards

Hello Jacques

Thank you very much for your information. The HD forums link was the one for me as it was a guy here in Australia that has done the hard work for me.
