B B...it's not just personal preference from all reports, though I have never run the Progressives so have no basis for personal comparision.  Progressives are a big improvement over the stock air shocks, but the Bitubos are a HUGE improvement.  They have significantly more adjustability in the spring preload, rebound damping, and compression damping.  It takes bit of tweaking to get them set up correctly, but once you've got it done right, the difference is large.

With regards to the Traxxion front end...you really can't imagine the difference, as you've probably never felt anything like it before.  It is night and day over any spring/emulator combination you've ever felt.  If you plan on keeping LD, it'll be the best money you spend on him...if you don't like it, I'll buy you a bottle of Maker's.... ;) ;D  It really and truely makes the bike not only more enjoyable to ride, but much safer as well.
Uh Oh, Terry's upping the ante.  :o har!  :drink: spyder

i sure like the new ride of mine. ive mounted them with the canister down. i did have a clearance problem on one bag but i spaced the spring clip out with a washer. i think they can mount either way but by the position of the decals the canister is intended to be down (which for some reason seems upside down)

Van, I know what you mean about it looking upside down.  :) I noticed that the top knuckle on your is not chrome. I wonder when they switched?

V...they are intended to mount as you've got them, though it does seem counter-intuitive.  They can go either way...still work the same.  On the Vrod, since I have no bags, I have them "upside down" 'cause they are exposed and look better that way, plus the chrome knuckle attaches to the chrome swingarm on the V.  Once you get them dialed in, it really is a nice ride.

Chuck...you have to order them that way...normal is black.  On a bagger, I guess it really doesn't matter, but on the V, I wanted the chrome knuckle where it attaches to the swingarm.

Gotcha :2vrolijk_21: Since the ones I got were chromed, I thought they all were.

When Dan ordered the intitial two sets for testing, I asked him to get the chrome knuckles...you got them on your set, but he ordered black for the V...he got me another set, and let me test the black.  I've been trying to talk Ken into getting those black ones for his V...I think Dan would take $400 for them and they were only on my bike for a thousand miles or so.

Did I hear "Bargain"? I didn't understand that was what you meant Terry. There goes my $750 budget.

You want me to check with Dan on Tuesday and make sure he's still got them?

I think we misunderstood something about Ken's $750 budget.  The shocks are v-rod parts.  So that shouldn't count against the Ultra's budget?  Each bike gets its own doesn't it :nixweiss: ?
