Anytime!!!

I just spoke to Dan. He is looking to place an order this week. I KNOW the 13" shocks work great, but if you're on a lowered bike, the 12" shocks would be pretty tempting to me.

Dan is looking to order about a dozen sets total, some for us and some for the TLR group. What he doesn't get in orders from us, he'll fill with TLR shocks.

If you want these shocks before Italy goes on vacation in a couple of months, act now.

Traxxion Dynamics 770-592-3823. Ask for Dan.

Excellent. Thanks for all your help with this Chuck. I just spoke with Dan. He physically took my official order and credit card info just now. My 13" shocks are now officially on order!!! Can't wait for a real rear suspension. Thanks for getting this going Terry! :2vrolijk_21:

Glad to hear things turned out well on Chief's bike...I know the shocks are not coming off the Vrod.  So I'll have to ante up and pay for the things too, but it's money well spent, IMO.

If any of you guys are sitting on the fence about this, better get off and order if you want a set before mid to late fall.

I talked to Dan about the set for my 04 Pumpkin this morning.  It seems that the catalogue only has 1 length shock for the FLHT's (13"), which is stock height for the regular bikes.  Stock height for the SE bikes is 12".  He is going to do more research and call me back.

Be sure and share what you find out Ernie.  I lucked out scoring a single Progressive 440 on eBay to match what I had and replace the leaker.  Got it for a sawbuck plus shipping.  If either of them leak again, however, I'd be inclined to give these a try.  So will be interested in the shock length question also.

Don, I don't know if you saw my post in the other Bitubo thread, maybe they can be merged, but if you can produce a credit card bill with a motorcycle related charge greater than the price of a pair of Progressives, Progressive will accept that as proof of purchase and rebuild the shocks for free.

You could go with the 13" shocks, and get a lowering kit to drop it back down an inch. Would rather have the correct shock, but if they don't make it, this would work.

Damn.  Never even really thought about them for a free repair as the thing was so far beyond a year old when it started acting up.  The cost of the rebuild service they offered when I asked was more than I thought fair.  So I declined their services on that option.  Just never thought of trying to get a freebie on a two year old shock.

This is interesting because they told me they are guaranteed for life. They asked me to send them both shocks so they can put both of them on the shock dyno. It sure sounds like we got different stories. I will definitely check with them again because now I've got some questions.

Don,

If you have spares, I'd be interested for the pumpkin since I haven't heard back from Traxxion Dynamics yet

No luck Ernie, sorry.  My leaker went in the trash when I scored the single shock on eBay.  It came off a three month old wrecked bike but was only the one shock.

I talked to Dan at Traxxion Dynamics this morning and Bitubo has a 300 milimeter shock, which converts to 11.81".  I ordered a set for the pumpkin.

Good news, Ernie.  That difference is insignificant, particularly when you take into account the way the Bitubo will perform...the net effect will result in no loss of ground clearance. :2vrolijk_21:

I just spoke with Dan again. To confirm, there are 2 sizes for our bikes. The 13" and the 11.8". Dan's planning on ordering them from the factory today or tomorrow. If you're interested in getting these shocks this summer (the Factory's closed in August), GET YOUR ORDER IN NOW! They have enough people to order them now. So there's not much time left to get in on the first batch! ;)

Conclusion of testing...

Max gave the shocks the thumbs up. He did comment that they felt firm, hypothicating that they would probably really shine 2-up. I'm running lighter than the std CUSE since the tour pak isn't attached most of the time and I agree they are firm, but not harsh.

I did get a launch over a RR crossing I hit intentionally fast on the way home. The shocks topped out when they unloaded, but I don't think they bottomed. If they did, it was very minimal and very subtle. Hitting that same crossing at that speed with the Progressives would have resulted in a major bottoming event.
