Production numbers
« on: December 28, 2004, 02:28:46 PM »

Hate to sound ignorant... maybe there's another thread I didn't see...

Has anyone ever found any "real" production numbers for 04/05 SEEGs or are we just to assume it's 50/50 and 33/33/33?  Thanks in advance.

DJW, here's a thread where this was discussed recently: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=cvo_gen;action=display;num=1100404530;start=0#0

I think at this point you will likely find only approximate total numbers and no breakdowns between colors.

Another member here, Glave, was able to find out production numbers by color for the '02 Road Kings, but not until 2 years after production.  See here: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=g1;action=display;num=1094757754;start=0#0

Not a lot of help, I know, but best I can do.  Maybe someone else here can be of more assistance.

I wonder if we did a comparison of all of our VINs if we could come up with the numbers.  Do you think they're sequential?

Could work if we can get early and late VIN's, the only problem is that I think that the VINS are not color specific, but not sure...  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The numbers are not sequential. The frames are pulled randomly on as needed basis to produce the CVOs.

Okay I don't want to sound like a know it all, but heres my take.I purchased a bike that I thought would stand out and that because of the price tag and limited production numbers i was going to be different. well here is the sad part of my story I struggled between the 04 Black and Blue or the Black and orange needless to say JCZ's influence on this board was part of my decision. So Black and Blue it was, i could not have been prouder the day I took it home man what a rush to be a select few. These bikes cost as much as some vehicles, not a lot of chrome compared to my old Road King but hey I am one of the few FLHTCSE riders right? WRONG!!

Supposedly there were only a specific number of bikes built but then you tell me why in my small circle of friends which is not that big, there are 10 Black and Blue bikes, well we see plenty more around in Orange and many more BB in the Chicagoland area. . okay now I am upset the guys see my bike and they all are able to pay the price and locate one pretty easily i may add. So now I say to myself well I may not be the only guy in Chicago with this bike but what the hey I am the only one in my small suburban town that has this FLHTCSE Black and Blue right?
On the way home on night Iam driving down the road by my home and on the opposite side of the street there is a Black and Blue bike going in the opposite direction and guess what I dont know this guy, so later that week i am at the dealer getting the chrome problems taken care of and I tell the service manager about the guy driving past me in my small suburban town and he says to me "oh yeah thats Bob he lives in the same town as you" well after the drive home I got to my garage put the bike away and went to my computer and Iam going to list it on Ebay with 500 miles on it. When you see it on there and see that my high bid only got as far as 25 or 26 thousand think of me and how special I feel now. By the way the whole point of my rambling is if you think that the MOCO only built x amont of bikes then why are they not numbered? I smell a marketing rat... Just my humble opinion

One thing that you have to remember is that the CVO bikes are only a platform for you to personalize and make it your self-expression.  The MoCo makes a few and sells them at a higher price to afford you the opportunity to move on from there.  These are not end-all, be-all bikes.
They have a limited edition paint job, some different chrome, and, as of a few model years into it, an engine that is comprised of an increase in horsepower and torque over the norm.  Nothing else is promised, although, through marketing and advertising you may perceive that it is.  It is expensive to think that you can make these a one of a kind dream-bike.  Many issues need to be addressed with your personal tastes and money.  That being said, you can decide what and where you want to put your money into this platform of self expression.  Each and every person that has an association with these bikes makes that decision.  Some decide that whatever the factory has made satisfies them.  Again, a personal choice.  Take the satisfaction that you have in the relatively small group of folks that have these CVOs and enjoy the bike for what it is.

Heavy, for whatever weight my influence carries.......I say keep it or regreat it. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I see on your signature that you're from Chicago.  Now a cow town the size of Sacramento.....the dealership got eight 04 SEEGs total.  I'd guess that a good size city like Chicago got at least four or five times that.  If you are hanging with a group of guys that all ride SEEGs let me just say that that's not normal and that it only goes to show the class of friends you have and their good taste in motorcycles.

Personally......not to influence anybody, just my humble opnion.........I love my motorcycle! [smiley=laugh.gif]

By the way, used SEEGs here in Calif. are going for over $30,000 but not on ebay.  Nobody trusts ebay any more.

There are many (10+ dealers) in the Chicago area... I can't speak for them all, I only know what the actual "Chicago Harley-Davidson" got in 2004.   5 blue and 1 orange.  Don't know about any others.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]
