I hope the unnamed, uncited, anonymous source is right. I know of another unnamed, uncited and anonymous source that says not. One of them must be right. Like always, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll give each one of them a 50/50 chance of being correct ;D

One thing is for sure, IF they are indeed going to offer a Vrod with ABS brakes, the controller is going to have to be about the size of two packs of smokes, unless they add a tourpak to hold it.  If you've never been into one of these things, there is NO room.  The Airbox could be more efficiently designed to both flow more air and allow room for the controller on the ABS system.  IMO, this is another step on the Revo platform towards a touring bike to compete for those who purchase Beemers, Wings, etc.  Harley with a true Sport Touring Bike along the lines of an RT?

In reality, unless they do something to increase the efficiency of the stock brake calipers/pads on the air cooled bikes, ABS, while being helpful, would still be woefully lacking compared to other bikes.  With the installation of Brembo's on the V's a year or so ago, they have an excellent braking system on them now...in fact, it's so good that it is very easy to lock up, so ABS on top of Brembos would be a good idea on the V, as well as all the other bikes.

Terry,  Don't know much about the V-Rod other than they are a blast to ride.  From what I have seen, the airbox area would be an ideal location for the ABS.  HD has a lot invested in that platform - the Rev engine particularly - and ABS would boost sales.  Will be interesting to see what happens on the 08s.

Mike...take a look in the Pictures section at the Vrod photo I posted.  Look closely at the tank and you will see some vents on the side.  This is an aftermarket tank this guy had repainted to match the SE paint.  It functions as sort of a "ram air" like we used to see on some of the old muscle cars.  Using some similar design, the intake for the Revo engine could be made a great deal more efficient...the motor is starved for air in stock configuration, that's why the boxes get removed or cut up in the front like I did mine.  So if the controller is smaller than a cigar box, it can be shoehorned in.

The ABS is something really exciting, if true.

All speculation at this point, but ABS does make sense for the V-Rod for a number of reasons.  The touring bikes also and space is more available on them - if the system could be downsized.

Checked out that bike - looked good.  Not my favorite color, but like the matching plus the seat.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the RG?

I just can't get past the fixed fairing, and the dual headlight. Reminds me too much of the Gold Wing.

My guesses for CVOs this year:

Night Rod
Street Glide
Electra Glide (They all seem to sell)
Heritage Softail or Softail Deluxe
Maybe even a Wide Glide raked out Dyna model

Expect a water-cooled Tourer as well.

Have you ever ridden a RG?  It is all about the ride with those bikes, once you ride them you think they are beautiful.

The CVO lineup this year is just a repeat of last years bikes with different paint and a bigger gas tank.  The information in the carb reports that has been published and discussed here is pretty much it.  No really big changes.  Only real change is the MOCO changed it's pattern of switching the bikes every two years since this would be the third year in a row for the Ultra CVO.

Sure not everyone likes the same things, what a boring world it would be if that were true.  For me I think the Heritage is a great bike, (it has a really nice ride) and the '07 SERK is a great looking bike.  You got yourself 2 nice rides there.

I like the looks, especially the one's with the eagle stripe.

I have ridden one.

My driving preferences consist of driving my sefb and my seeg.

I am glad you like yours but I guess its kinda like selling religion, you just have to let people make up their own mind.

Same exact platform as all the other touring bikes. I'm sure they ride just like my RK. It's not about how it rides. I'm not a fan of the cosmetics. I have a friend with a RG, and he swears by it. It's just not for me.

Again, I don't want it to come off like I'm telling you your bike isn't everything you believe it to be. Obviously, if they didn't sell, the MoCo would've discontinued them a long time ago. I'm just asking if I'm on an island as far as my opinion. I just don't dig that front end at all. Reminds me too much of a Honda. Who, IMHO make a superior tourer anyway. But, I'd never buy it.

I predict a Harley "chopper" to compete with the Big Dog/Amer Ironhorse/etc type of bikes.
Heard it here first !!

See: Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles.

Harley makes bank on licensing showroom space for them, and they don't have to assemble them, but perception is it's a HD Chopper.
