I knew RTFM was the right answer after I posted the message!   Sorry for wasting the I/Os on the bb server.

Mark,
No harm done. ;D It's a rather long step by step process. You'll want to have your manual with you when you do this procedure. Along w/that there should have been a card that came w/your bike were you can write the new code on it, and it will have the procedure to disarm your bike using this code. You can keep this in your wallet in case you would ever need to use it. You know in case someone rode your bike while you were at Daytona Beach, and forgot to give you the fob back. ;)

Henry...you probably had the old style transmitter and pager on your 02?  The new II version is supposed to be a bit more powerful in range, depending of course on things like buildings being in the way, etc.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your new SEUC.  You're going to love it!!  I love mine more, if that's possible, every time I start her up.  :)  Be prepared to spend some money now that you've found us.  We love helping you spend your money to satisfy your OCD.  ;)

Not sure about the others, but my dealer put a code into my bike as part of the setup. They use the same #'s on all the bikes but they put in a code to check the system. Then when I picked it up they walked me through the process of changing the numbers.

Normally if the dealer were to put a code in they would use the default one that is noted in the manual. 3-1-3-1-3

Can't argue the point with you, however, it is not the code that my dealer uses.

I said "Normally" that leaves a lot of room for variances when you dealing w/Dealers. ;D

Possible.  I'll agree.  I installed it on the 02 in 2005.  I gave all the paperwork to the new owner, so I don't know the part number anymore.  Don't get get wrong, I like the peace of mind at work, when I was perhaps 500 yards from the scoot.  Not sure I'd trust it much beyond 1/4 mile.
