07 alarm question
« on: June 07, 2007, 08:44:55 PM »

Hi everyone,

I am considering purchasing an 07 SEUC, I can not find out if it comes with the siren/transmitter module for the alarm? Can anyone with an 07 SEUC answer this?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Welcome to CVOHarley glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: When you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

To answer your question no the SEUC2 come with Harley-Davidson® Factory Security System Smart Siren Kit stock. If you want to upgrade to the pager/alarm you will need to get these - Harley-Davidson® Security System Smart Siren II, and Harley-Davidson® Security System Pager Receiver II.

Welcome Mike. Gray is correct but the SEUC² does have an alarm that does chirp when tripped.

Absolutely positively!   You are issued a fob ( 2 actually) that if you don't have it the bike screams if you move it -- plus it wont start.

There are different levels that will activate the system. Partial alarm/alert it will chirp, full alarm the siren will go off, and the lights will flash. As mentioned in the last post when it is armed it disables the bike from being started. There is also an internal battery that will allow the siren to sound even if the battery cables are cut.

Thanks very much, atleast it has the siren then. I installed the siren/pager in my 06 Heritage, had the pager for a month, then lost it somewhere on the road (got home, empty holster !?#@!)

So If I don't want the pager, I am all set, if I want the pager, have to install security system II.

I have to decide by Saturday about the 07SEUC, was all for it....until I started reading about the engine problems...called local HD, and they told me they have serviced 47 different 07 SE's, and none were anything more major than a regular service interval. (i.e. no major repairs)

So, a simple question, stick with the 06 Heritage, or go with the 07 SEUC?

Thanks again for the help guys

I agree with hard10 SEUC2 HANDS DOWN!!

The siren/chirp can be set to chirp everytime you shut the bike off, or not chirp unless it gets moved. I do like the idea of the pager. I still look out the window every few minutes.

Good morning Rotag,

You're   on the CVO website .

If you put yourself a smart siren II or oldest pager, read this thread for the setup on 07 models.

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=11314.0

The right :welcome_005: way is :
As far as encoding your pager to the system, whereever it says "push button on fob," that means for you to turn the ignition off and wait for the system to "arm."

Good morning Smiler,

If you walk or you stay in a office and you see not your bike, you're informed by the pager if somebody moves this.

Hi Jaques, thanks. I was thinking about investing in a tracker device so if it is stolen I may get it back - not sure where it could be hidden on a SERK though.

The tracker is not exactly the same goal, I think !
I know not where is the best place and on bike we have not many hidden places.

The pager is a remote alarm. If your bike is stolen, there is no satellite signal to find it.

I had one of those pager things on my 02 Ultra.  I guess it was pretty good for peace of mind.  It is billed as effective up to 1/2 mile away.  I guess I need to get a job on Mythbusters, because as skeptical and conservative as I am........I just had to try it.  So, me and a bud did just that.  100 yard increments.  He'd bump the scoot, I'd get a chirp.  We reset each time.  Made it out to 1/4 mile, but no more.....................so, there went my idea of riding the bike to Talladega.  My seats are in Moss Thornton tower, which are a good 1/2 mile from where I'd park.  Not that it would do much good at that distance in that crowd other than to let me know that someone was either stealing or stripping my bike.  ;D
