Laconia accidents
« on: June 12, 2007, 01:24:03 PM »

ORFORD, N.H. -- At least five motorcyclists or their passengers were hurt on New Hampshire roads during the first weekend of New Hampshire's Motorcycle Week.

State Police said Jeffrey Cragin, 44, of Williamstown, Vt., was headed home from Motorcycle Week activities in Laconia when he hit a deer Monday night in Orford. He was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Police said speed was a factor.

Earlier, two accidents involving motorcycles sent four others to the hospital.

In Bristol, a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries after running into another bike on Route 104 Monday afternoon. David Bunker of Unity was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in critical condition. A man and woman on the other bike were in stable condition at Franklin Regional Hospital.

And in Bow, Arthur Joly, 50, of Manchester was hurt when his bike and a car collided.

As with any big rally this can be expected.Just be careful out there when going to a place where there will be alot of riders in a small area.As we know alot of these riders are very inexpierienced. I am leaving today and I for one will be paying attention at all times.Have fun and be safe. Later,Q

I believe it. Those deer can run real fast.

A friend of mine on the way to Daytona 3 years ago said a deer was running alongside him - @ 60 mph.

All the big rallies have quite a few accidents.  Best to be careful and ride cautiously when a few thousand bikers are along side.

That's getting really bad, drunk deer running down the road at 60 MPH. That's just an accident looking for a place to happen.  :huepfenlol2:

Next thing you know... :alcohol: :tr_4: :alcohol:

I checked, and there is no law against an animal drinking and walking or running.  Animals, IMHO, should drink responsibly or not at all.  :alcohol:  :huepfenlol2:

As long as they cross the street where the yellow signs say they are supposed to cross.
