ORFORD, N.H. -- At least five motorcyclists or their passengers were hurt on New Hampshire roads during the first weekend of New Hampshire's Motorcycle Week.
State Police said Jeffrey Cragin, 44, of Williamstown, Vt., was headed home from Motorcycle Week activities in Laconia when he hit a deer Monday night in Orford. He was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Police said speed was a factor.
Earlier, two accidents involving motorcycles sent four others to the hospital.
In Bristol, a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries after running into another bike on Route 104 Monday afternoon. David Bunker of Unity was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in critical condition. A man and woman on the other bike were in stable condition at Franklin Regional Hospital.
And in Bow, Arthur Joly, 50, of Manchester was hurt when his bike and a car collided.
