 Stoped in a dealership in SC this week to grab a few goodies and was talking to the owner about his big sale on 07 Lowriders.I made the comment that this may be the last year for the lowrider. His reply no but lots of changes comeing in 08......

I'm surprised the Road King Custom was on that doc.  It was not on the posted color chart for 2008.

Just got back from Europe and talked to a rather informed dealer over there......here is what he says will happen next year:

All touring Models get ABS standard
Heritage Soft tail gets 250 rear tire
V-Rod souped up bike gets larger engine makes 140 or 150 HP....can't remember what he said except it will apparently do 275-280 KPH
Low Rider goes away and a new Dyna model is introduced to replace......special appeal to smaller riders (like women).

Pretty well dialed in guy and was only forthcoming after a couple of hours conversation.........we shall see, but this is what he thought would be announced at the Dealer meeting in Nashville.

ABS is one of those "about time" things that should have happened previously.  Will be good to see if they pull it off.  Just hope they manage a system that is small and effective (e.g. BMW).

LOL!!! You know that wouldn't surprise me. It's times like this I'm glad I don't live close to you. Tempting enough to read about all the things you've done. No way I would be able to fight temptation sitting around shooting the chit, drinking beer and helping you wrench on yours to figure out the best way to do the additions. You know who's bike would probably end up next on the lift getting the mods.

It just bewilders me how dealers can make these kinds of statements and they haven't even seen the 08 bikes...    Next time you may want to ask if they've seen them already.  Or ask them when dealer show is.  It's in July.  Oh well...keep riding.

Like I said "we shall see"!!!   Who knows for sure in any case.....the ABS is a "no Brainer".......hell the cheapest Korean cars now have it...why not the most overpriced Motorcycle???

There is a plus though with Don.  I can usually talk him into installing things for me.  Only costs me a six-pack, and its better work than I get a the dealership.
