Considering one of these 9.5 recurve Clearview Shields.  I'm 6 '3" so figure that would be about right.

Anyone know which is the closest tint to my 07 Jester stock shield - the smoke tint or dark grey tint?

Henry,
They have supposely increased production recently, so you may get it faster than some of us did.  Might be worth the call.

Thanks Bro.  I'm going to give them a call today.

I put the smoke tint on my 06 Haze. It has sort of a brownish tint to it. It matches the Freedom Wings really well if you know what those look like. Matching the color of the bike rather than trying to match stock was a good way for me to go.

The smoke is a bit more bronzy, if that makes any sense.  If you've seen the Kury Dragon Wings, it matches that tint nicely.

One way to measure, and not be guessing, is to cut a piece of cardboard out about 6 inches high and roughly the shape of the top of the shield.  Then just tape that onto the outside of the current shield, keep moving it around to where you want it.  Ideally, you should be able to look over the shield in your normal riding position and see a point on the ground about 50 feet in front of the bike.  Measure from the top of the fairing to the "new" top, then call Clearview and tell 'em you measured from that point and they'll give you the right one.  If you ride two up, and have chitty suspension, take that into account.

Or, you can just hold your hand up there and guess.

Or, you can get a yardstick and sit on top of the windshield...get another pair of hands for this...get yourself seated right, put the yardstick on the tip of your nose, then make it level...measure the distance between the yardstick and the top of the shield, and add....

Called Clearview.  I need a shield relatively fast, since I'm heading out again in about two weeks.  They couldn't turn me one that fast, but directed me to a source to which they sold a lot of 6 9.5" smoke shields.  I paid.......dearly........but one is on the way.  OK.......I'll tell you.  $119.99 plus shipping.  The stock shield is fine for riding around here, or even a short 200 mile day.  But after having the hell beat out of me all the way to DC and back, and Ft. Riley, KS and back..........I gotta have something better.  Funny how a couple of long distance rides will make one part with the money.  After riding Terry's scooter, I'm convinced Clearview is the way to go.

I ordered 2 shields from Clearview - expect 4-6 weeks delivery.

I ordered a 9.5 " Smoke (thanks for the help, Terry) for the Jester and a 19.5 Light Grey for the RK.  John is a great guy, very helpful, gave me the 10% CVO discount.

All you bug eaters without shields can just eat your hearts out.   ;D

He also has a product to clean bike windshields - All Kleer.  I ordered a bottle of it as well - $8 - not on his website yet.  Last year near Mt. Rushmore a fellow we met and rode with a while gave me a sample packet of this stuff.  Spread on the shield (helmet face shields too), allow it to dry to a haze, and then wipe off.  Similar to Rain-X, rain doesn't stick to the shield and it is also MUCH easier to clean away bugs, etc.

And I bet you paid WAY less than I, since you probably aren't in as big a rush.  John is very helpful.  I called him after I placed my order with the vendor source he provided.  He can't do much other than "talk" with the vendor about pricing policies before he accepts another order from them.  That's capitalism for ya.  Heck, I'd probably do the same thing.  Especially if someone needs one NOW!  Like me.  God Bless America!

Capitalism is the best system in the world, and my opinion is most prejudiced on that subject.

List prices are: 86.00 for 9.5 w/tint, 155.00 for 19.5 w/tint, 8.00 for tha All Kleer, and $25 for shipping, less 10% discount on all except shipping.  So I'm looking at about $250 for 2 shields.  The 02 RK shiled is scratched up pretty good from road debris, etc. & hit a wild turkey a few years ago that did a number on it - never got around to replacing it until now.

Usually I am not the patient sort, but as I age into curmudgeonery, the patience factor overcomes the want-it-now factor.

My Clearview Shield was on my doorstep when Renea and I got back from dropping off the scooter at Rod's Performance on Tuesday.  It is sitting in my den until I get my scooter back tomorrow.  It has been one hell of a week.
